My wishes for Best TV show nominations: The Americans, The Handmaid's Tale, This Is Us & The Crown. I have 2 other shows who I hope will be nominated (Netflix shows) but given the Emmy's animosity towards shows like this, I won't hope.

Based on what has gotten nominated so far, these are my standout reactions. :

Love the Big Little Lies love! It's awesome Nicole and Reese were both nominated! Milo got nominated for This is Us-very well deserved too!

The cinematography for Big Little Lies was gorgeous; so, I love that it is getting nominated for it.

Claire got nominated and so did The Crown.

So glad for most of the nominations. I would have had a hissy fit if The Handmaid's Tale wasn't nominated. I love Stranger Things but I feel like that slot belongs to The Americans. Yes, their latest season wasn't that good but acting wise, everyone was stellar.

I am also very happy for the This Is Us acting nominations, especially for Milo, Sterling & Ron! I'm so bummed Mandy was snubbed. She was so good as Rebecca.

After winning their Emmys, it's quite interesting to note that both Rami & Tatiana are snubbed this year.

I don't watch a lot of the comedy shows but those are also strong contenders.

I don't watch The Leftovers but a lot of people are upset the show was snubbed.

I want to watch more comedy shows so I guess I might try Silicon Valley or Veep soon. I just need to check on how many seasons/eps I've missed.

So the 2 Netflix shows that I said I thought the Emmys will ignore are Stranger Things and 13RW. So I was surprised that ST got nominated.

I think my favorite category is the Best Leading Actress in a Drama because I love them all and wouldn't care who wins in this category.

Stranger Things is definitely massively popular, but it's not so mainstream, so i could see the Emmys going either way.

I'm not surprised by the Big Little Lies love, but that is so well deserved. Agreed on the best actress in a drama, Lindsay.

I personally don't like Silicon Valley. I tried watching it a couple of years ago, and it's just a little too "nerdy" humor for me personally.

We seem to gravitate towards the same type of comedy shows, Lizzy, so I'll try and see for myself with Silicon Valley. What comedy shows do you enjoy watching btw?

I have yet to see Big Little Lies so I can't comment on it but based on all the positive reviews the show got, it's definitely expected that they'll get a nomination.

13RW was also very popular but I wasn't sure for the Emmy love the way I was sure for The Handmaid's Tale, for example. I mean acting wise, everyone was superb on ST but because it falls on a specific genre, that's the reason why I wasn't sure the Emmys will show them love.
