Seven extracted Revenge on its rivals as it racked up yet another Monday victory

Mondays have turned into a whitewash for Seven this ratings season as they chalked up yet another victory on the board. Meanwhile, Ten once again collapsed into a heap, falling well behind its commercial rivals to land in forth place according to OzTAM.

Revenge took out its namesake against the competition, raking in an enormous 1.96m viewers, well up on its results from the past two weeks. It attracted over a million viewers with adults aged 18-49 and 25-54 and secured 60% of the 16-39 audience within its timeslot. Needless to say, it topped all demographics for the night.

I`m very happy to see the show doing so well Down Under. Hopefully it will continue to do, which will help get it shown in some more countries like the UK and France. In fact i`m going to look around for ratings news on some of the other countries that are airing the show like Canada, Italy and Israel.

Ratings News - April 19, 2012

With CBS airing mostly encores and Revenge back at 10 p.m. after six weeks off the air, ABC moved up to second place among adults 18-49 last night, pulling a 2.4 rating in the demo and 7.04 million viewers. An encore of The Middle started the night, leading into a 2.0. for Suburgatory. Modern Family was down to tenths of a point for a 4.0 with 18-49-ers and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 pulled a respectable 2.6, falling 10 percent from its premiere last week. Revenge topped its timeslot, dipping just a tenth of a point from its last original for a 2.3 with adults 18-49.

Well i`m pleased that Revenge won it`s timeslot and only dropped a tenth of a point in it`s return last night. However we really need to step up our efforts to promote the show so that it`s rating can go back up to at least 3.0 before the end of the season. Of course it wouldn`t be too much for ABC to promote the show more often.

So, I visited this thread and am happy that the ratings are on the same level they were before the long break. And Australia's treating Revenge very well too, that's great. I'm sure season 2 is a done deal.

Rating News - April 26, 2012

ABC padded the first half of the night with repeats of The Middle, Suburgatory and Modern Family, prompting a predictable drop for The B---- in Apartment 23. The third episode was down 23 percent from last week for a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49, though it was still one of the strongest showings of the night and up against the most competitive half-hour of Idol. Revenge also dipped, 13 percent, to a season low of a 2.0 adults rating. ABC averaged a 1.8 with adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers.

ABC's "Revenge" Wins its Hour for the 2nd Week in a Row

Some early info on ABC's Wednesday, ahead of the regular press release.

Despite airing repeat comedies during the first 3 half-hours of the evening, ABC beat out NBC's all-original schedule on Wednesday by strong double-digit percentage in both Total Viewers (+17%) and Adults 18-49 (+50%).

At 8pm, ABC's repeat The Middle grew week to week by 7% in viewers, outdrawing its last 4 repeat telecasts.

Building on its lead-in at 8:30pm among young adults (+8%), ABC's repeat Suburgatory nearly doubled NBC's original Best Friends Forever in the half hour in Total Viewers (+67%) and Adults 18-49 (+75%).

· The ABC freshman comedy was up sharply over its last repeat airing in Total Viewers (+25%) and Adults 18-49 (+17%).

At 9pm, ABC's encore Modern Family shot up from its lead-in (+57%) to finish as Wednesday's #1 scripted show in Adults 18-49.

· ABC's Modern Family improved over its year-ago replay by 10% in Adults 18-49. In addition, the ABC comedy topped its most recent encore by 18% in viewers and by 22% in young adults.

Posting strong retention of its Modern Family lead-in during the 9:30pm half-hour with Adults 18-34 (100%) and Adults 18-49 (91%), ABC's Don't Trust the B--- in Apartment 23 ranked #2 to the conclusion of Idol for the 2nd consecutive week on both young adult measures.

During the 10 o'clock hour, ABC's Revenge finished #1 for the 2nd week in a row among Total Viewers, Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54. The ABC drama once again beat out NBC's first-run Law & Order: SVU in Total Viewers (+6%), Adults 18-49 (+25%) and Adults 25-54 (+24%).

I`m disappointed to see the ratings drop. However i`m pleased that the show won it`s hour for the second straight week.

Yeah, I was disappointed as well. I admit last week's episode wasn't so good (though it wasn't bad, after such a long break I think you need a really good episode), 2.0 still is very alright I think but if Revenge would fall below that number, I'd worry. I hope episode 18 is as good as I hear on the web and the next episodes show that we are close to the season finale.

“Revenge” (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

During the 10 o’clock hour, ABC’s “Revenge” ran in a near tie for first place Adults 18-49 (tying CBS’ “CSI” in audience share - 2.1/6 vs. 2.3/6), while ranking No. 1 in the hour with Adults 18-34 and across all key Women demos (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). The ABC freshman drama beat out NBC’s veteran “Law & Order: SVU” in the hour with Total Viewers (+9% - 7.1 million vs. 6.5 million), Adults 18-49 (+17% - 2.1/6 vs. 1.8/5) and Adults 25-54 (+17% - 2.7/7 vs. 2.3/6).


“Revenge” delivered dramatic improvement in the hour for ABC over original programming on the same night last year in Total Viewers (+97%), Adults 25-54 (+69%) and Adults 18-49 (+40%).


I`m pleased to see that the ratings went up a bit. Good job everyone. Lets keep up the good work and boost the ratings some more.

Thanks, Hot Rod. When I checked the ratings earlier today, I just saw that it had 2.1 again (like last week's final ratings - it got up 0.1) but from that numbers it sound a lot better. And then Emily flew to Japan and Australia - even though success of a show in other countries doesn't save a bad show, it definitely is a huge plus and ABC gets good money for it - so I think that fact you can add on the good and solid ratings. Haven't seen "Absolution" yet, I think Sunday or Monday.

Thanks for that info, Full Throttle. To be honest: I don't like the cover. Don't get me wrong, I like how the rest of the cast is included behind Emily, I like the colour red, but I haven't liked the "thorn" picture of Emily from the very beginning. There are tons of pics out there were she looks stunning and super beautiful. Have to buy it anyway, still hoping for a European version since I dislike the whole American region code 1 crap. The BTS and Bloopers are of course a reason to get the dvd set within the next months.

The ABC freshman drama dominated NBC's veteran Law & Order: SVU in the hour with Total Viewers (+23%), Adults 18-49 (+29%) and Adults 25-54 (+17%).

· Building week to week in Adults 18-49 (+5%) and Adults 18-34 (+13%), Revenge marked its highest rating in 3 months on the latter measure - since 2/15/12.

· Revenge earned huge year-to-year gains in the hour, outdelivering original programming on the same night last year in Total Viewers (+84%), Adults 25-54 (+42%) and Adults 18-49 (+38%).
