My bet is still that Stefan is Maleficent's ex (although I'm not sure who this makes the father of her child). Nothing like having your ex show up to make you miserable because he's sure you're still holding onto your grudge about how he dumped you. Yes, Stefan, the world is all about you. So glad you figured that one out.

Although, Regina might have shown him her ID. "Hi, Queen of the Enchanted Forest, here. How's about a little respect?"

ETA: Trying to decide what I think of Maleficent's Storybrooke look. A bit old movie noir. It's more serious than Cruella's look. Ursula, compared to the others, is more low key. She's well-dressed but more normal (as she's the one with tentacles, I sort of like the contrast). But, I guess I'm trying to think what Maleficent's look is supposed to be saying about her character. So far, all I've got is that she'd enjoy showing up on an episode of Agent Carter (she'd probably want to be the bad guy, but it would depend who she got to beat up and how much fun she got to have doing it).

Yeah, lol, I found it peculiar that Stefan just decided to show up out of the blue like that, lol. I was rather surprised that no one knew a fig about who Regina was. either .... Lol.

But I enjoyed their scenes a lot and this take on their beginnings. Something had to initially bond them and for me it makes sense it was able to happen while Mal was at one of her lowest points otherwise like Mal implied, Regina probably would have been lunch! Lol.

So we finally found out how they met. I am happy. But I hope it wasn't the last time we saw something from their history.

BTW it's not that important but I think they should at least in some flasbacks show her in her old costume.

I think I figured out the message Mal's clothes are supposed to send. Cruella looks over-the-top (I'd warn against underestimating her, but that's her look). She's not the leader of this little pack. Ursula is a tough New Yorker. She reminds me of what I read once about formal kimonos in Japan. Apparently, there's a strict hierarchy on how formal a kimono is (they have a number system for it). A mid-level kimono can be bumped up a level with the right obi and some other touches or maybe even knocked down one the same way (it's been ages since I read about it, so I'm vague on the details). Ursula could be on her way to work, a night on the town, or just casually hanging out with some friends.

Mal's outfit is very polished. Her look is clearly more formal than the others. She has more quiet confidence than the others, who feel more need to assert themselves. It doesn't proclaim that she's the leader of this little pack but it helps you catch on to it.

Or that's what the outfit seems to say. Guess we'll have to see what the plot says.

And, no, I was not including Regina as one of the gang in that hierarchy.
