A lot like her parents really. She didn't even know them but she surprisingly has a lot of their qualities. (Like the inherent need to find people XD... from her dad...)

Yeah, because I have a feeling that Emma didn't really have any strong male role models in her life. The same way she didn't really have a mother's love either.
