Oh I can understand that, and him going dark, we've seen it before...but it's just the way it is being written atm

Rumple, and I don't recognize him at all tbh. Like he's been replaced with someone else...

I am just not impressed with what they are doing with Rumple.. I feel like he always does this and it never works. It's frustrating to watch him make the same mistakes over and over...

Quite a few theories floating around, the main one being he's been replaced

This all started when his hair was cut, I reckon the Rumple before that was the true Rumple, the one that appeared from the back room isn't...

or it's something to do with the dream world possibly

Exactly! And he feels like he's lost Belle. She's been the only anchor for him to fight the darkness in the past. He is truely alone, which always makes him revert to his old ways.

Yeah I love his storyline in 5A...and then it seems the writers changed their minds at the last minute and when back on themselves and on Rumple..

I liked Rumple being good as much as everyone else, but, honestly, they couldn't leave him that way. It was too soon. Rumple is the show's best villain. Until they're ready to close the book on the show, they can't have him be a warm and fuzzy hero. I don't think Bobby would want that, either. He likes Rumple's complicated nature. Not to say that they haven't gone overboard so far this season in making him unlikable, I think they definitely have by having him snuggle up to the EQ, but they couldn't leave him as the "hero" he was when he pulled Excalibur from the stone.

I agree. Plus they couldn't have gone to the UW if he wasn't the DO.

I personally didn't think it a stretch for his character. He felt frightened and alone, and couldn't cope with that. Plus the whole reason the Darkness was out of him was the Apprentice removed it, he never had to fight the temptation of it. His story isn't complete, until he does and fully faces up to the things he's done. That is what I want to see.
