That's not exactly how it works. She unnamed him as the third "life" that he owed her. She said Jaqen H'ghar, and if he had refused to help her escape Harrenhal as an alternate, then he would have had to kill himself to fulfill his debt to her/the Red God. She unnamed him (or rather, she cancelled the kill order) when he agreed to help her escape.
Him taking a new face was just so he wouldn't be recognized as Jaqen, since he had been working for the Lannister army. (And in the book, he changes to the new face before he leaves Harrenhal, which made more sense, since he would need to escape the scene of the crime as much as Arya.) __________________
