A fresh-faced LISA KUDROW is simply sizzling in InStyle magazine's July issue, as she opens up about her sweet friends, family and future!

Known as the playful Phoebe on the must-see NBC show "Friends", one might think that the lovable actress brings much of herself to the character. In reality, Kudrow says she hears she can be perceived as reserved or even "cold"! "I've heard it so much that I kind of see it now, to a degree," Kudrow tells the mag. "I don't immediately let on what I'm thinking, and I have a certain level of friendly that doesn't go too deep."

Pal MATTHEW PERRY even jokes with Kudrow about her tight-lipped traits: "Matthew Perry says I'm so uptight, when my husband kisses me, his tongue gets stuck ... He makes me laugh, so I'm not going to talk him out of it. I'm not one to spoil a good bit."

So what else do people think of her? She tells InStyle, "Fans who come up to me always say the same thing: 'You're so much smaller in person! And thinner!' I can't help but think, 'So, for most of the world, I'm a giantess?'"

Besides her TV life, Lisa has been happily married to French advertising executive MICHEL STERN for eight years. The two have an adorable 5-year-old son together, JULIAN. In the parenting department, Kudrow says it is MATT LeBLANC (who has helped father new wife MELISSA McKNIGHT's two kids for five years) that she admires: "Matt's a great father. He makes their world really safe. There are rules, and he's consistent."

Lisa Kudrow is best known as dippy Phoebe in friends but in reality she's a sharp actress with a biology degree and is married to French advertising exec Michel Stern. Here she reveals what she fights about with her husband and the special off-scren bond she shares with Courteney and Jennifer, who calls her "One of the all-time greats"...

Q You, Jennifer and Courteney are close friends. Do you like to gossip?

We eat lunch together every day and we spend a lot of time talking about the world and what's going on. When we were getting married, we'd talk about that.

Q What attributes do they each possess that endear them to you?

Courteney dosen't have a mean bone in her body. You can't make her insult someone. But she's really honest-she's not afraid of conflict yet she's not combative. Everything she tells you is comming out of love and respect. And Jennifer , she's very emotional, spiritual, loving and supportive. Whatever you say, she's going to find a way to support you. That's how loyal she is. Even if you said you murdered someone, she find a way to support that, because your're a friend. Well, maybe that's a bad example....

Q What about the guys? Have they bonded the way the women have?

Not as much as the girls, no. But that's just the way girls are. With guys, they bond over things. So if they dont have things in common, it's going to be harder.

Q What's your favourite film thats each of them has appeared in?

Matt LeBlanc in Lost in space makes a great romantic hero. He's a sexy take-Carge kind of guy. And Matthew Perry is really charming-I love watching him in as a romantic lead. But i don't like gory films, so i haven't see any of Courteney's scream movies. She understands. I saw Seven, Brad's film, and i couldn't sleep for two weeks after that.

Q Jennifer Aniston received much critical acclaim last year for her role in the good girl. Did that cause any jealousy?

No. Because everyone's had it at some point or another. We all learned pretty fast that if one gets a turn, well, they're like waves, they just keep coming.

Q When Courteney found David and Jennifer found Brad, did they look for support or approval from the rest of the cast?

As girls, we all talk about relationships, but then once they turn in to marriages, that became something more sacred.

Q Dose your husband or Brad come on set much?

Michel is here almost every week. So is Brad. They come on the show nights. David Arquette shows up sometimes during the week, because he plays basketball nearby.

Q Have any of your friends guest stars been nervous?

All of them. Susan Sarandon, Bruce Willis, Sean Penn was nervous and he's done plays. Alec Baldwin didn't seem scared, but he isn't afraid of anything.

Q Did you feel like you won the lottery when you cast in friends?

Yes, after the first year.

Q That was before your salaries went through the roof. Once they did, did it feel a little weird?

Yes , and a couple of us even got nervous driving, like we'd have an accident. We felt it was too much luck, something bad would have to balance it out.

Q Do you still feel that way?

No. There are other surprises you don't expect that come along with fame. Like thinking whatever you've got going on emotionall is going to get fixed. That dosent happen at all.

Q Still, having money can't hurt..

It's nice thing not to be worried about, I'll say that a hundred thousands times.

Q Have you had bad experiences with the press, for example, where you have been misquoted?

Worse than that. During one interview, where i was asked if i'd like friends to come back, i said, "I hope it dose, it suits my lifestyle. Now that i've said it out loud it probably won't happen." It got picked up as: "Kudrow said show will Return". Then i had five other people asking me "Why are you saying the show's being picked up? You don't have that right."

Q From what we've read , you were a quiet child who liked to study. why did your friends all drop you at one point?

That was in seventh grade when i was 12. I wasn't attracting boys, and thats's what my friends were interested in. And one day i got this letter from my two best friends, which said, "You're a tag-along, you just stand there, you don't say anything. You need to make your own friends. We're not going to help you do that , we're not going to be your friends any more." That was awful. The world turned upside down. Everyone was so mean. And it lasted for the the rest of the school year.

Q Did you lose all of your friends?

I was able to hold on to one other friend, but we didn't have the same lunch break. So my worst fears about eating alone came true. Hopefully, though that will be the most painful thing that ever happens to me in my life.

Q You had your nose fixed when you were 16. Was that a scary decision?

I didn't think twice about it. The nose is a big deal. All of a sudden, i looked better. Older boys were interested in me.

Q What are the best things about your marriage?

Everything is good. We're committed. We haven't gotten so comfortable that we don't make the effort. We're both still very much in love. It's been eight years.

Q Have you had conflicts with your husband over parenting? (Lisa and Michel have a 5 year old son.)

Sure. Table manners. The're important to michel and not to me. There are certain things i don't feel like fighting over .

Q Are you going to have another child?

We're thinking about it.

Q How long have you been a smoker?

I started when i was 20. I stopped for three years before and during my pregnancy.

Q Do you smoke dope?

No. I tried it, but it dosen't agree with me.

Q What do you want to do after you finish friends

Movies.

Q Lets talk about your movies. Your latest is wonderland with Val Kilmer, in which he plays porno stud John Holmes and you play his wife, Sharon. Have you seen any of Holmes's movies?

I've seen clips, but im not a big porno fan.

Q The film director, Don Roos, said there's something in you that's very dark.

I know he said that. I dont see it. Dosen't mean it's not there.

Q Diane Keaton, who directed you and Meg Ryan in Hanging up, describes you as mysterious, complicated, sly and witty.

Sly! Sly! She thinks i'm Sly? That's a compliment.

Q Are you also complicated?

Well, who isn't?

Q Mysterious?

Not intentionally. I just keep my mouth shut if i dont know what i'm talking about. Maybe that's what it is. Most people who seem mysterious have a mop floating around their heads!

Q What was it like being on set with Diane and Meg?

They'd talk about architecture and design. When i'd say, "I saw a house i liked," Diane would ask, "Who's the architect?" When i'd say the name, she'd laugh hysterically and say, "Well, of course you liked it!"

Q Is it true that you and Meg passed the time by consulting a Ouija board?

We did, and Diane thought we were nuts. She would shriek when we suggested she do it with us. And then give me a round of, "You're so stupid, Lisa."

Q Did she tell you that?

A few times!

Q Did you like Meg?

I fell madly in love with her.

Kudrow 'Picking Up' Producer's Role at ABC Family LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - ABC Family has started production on a romantic comedy that will mark "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow's debut as a producer. Is Or Isn't Entertainment, the newly formed production company headed by Kudrow and Dan Bucatinsky ("All Over the Guy"), is producing "Picking Up and Dropping Off," a movie that ABC Family has slated for a December premiere. "We are thrilled with the caliber of talent attached to this project," says Linda Mancuso, head of programming for ABC Family. "This is the first production from Lisa and Dan's company ... and we're honored to be working with them in this capacity." Scott Wolf ("Party of Five") and Amanda Detmer ("A.U.S.A.") will star in the movie as newly single parents. He's getting over a tough divorce and trying to reconnect with his son, while she's wondering whether to end her separation from her husband for their daughter's sake. The two meet by chance at the airport when picking up and dropping off their kids and soon strike up a friendship. There's also a romantic spark. "Lisa and I were so impressed with [the] script, which has the heart, wit and charm of a romantic comedy favorite like 'Sleepless In Seattle,'" Bucatinsky says. I think Lisa Kudrow is a great actress and Phoebe is one of my fav TV characters [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img] I also loved the character Michelle in R&Ms High School Reunion...thought she was hilarious!! Hope shell be doing some more comedy in the future, esp when FRIENDS is over [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]
