I think he said that he has genuine interest in her and it's no manipulation or anything, and that he's wanted a love interest but it's up to the writers and "we'll see"

Seriously! The fan reaction for them has been intense, to say the least. I hope the writers noticed and took it as a hint to keep writing the C+K story!
