Same . We could have pictured him living his life helping newly turned wolves and someday coming across Caroline who helps newly changed vamps .

Tyler storyline started to go down hill
Season two loved it when Tyler first turned werewolf that was a beautiful storylone
He got the bad end of the stick I later seasons like they didn't care

I'm surprised Matt lived to the end as well - honestly, when you look at his storylines, I never got the impression that the writers cared about him very much, he was just another spare part to them imo I guess they just wanted to keep him around because he was the only human left....

& Tyler was definitely screwed over, a lot of characters on this show were, but I don't think anyone got it as bad as him even though he did the least terrible things (aside from Matt) imo

Yeah Matt surviving was the least shocking thing that happened in the series . Her lady boner for him knows no bounds.

I don't get it though - storyline-wise you wouldn't get the feeling that the writers were invested in his character at all

The other writers were probably not invested but he was under Julie's protection so he was definetely going to make it out alive. Someone on twitter questioned why Matt was still alive and Julie answered "Bite your tongue". During season 4 she even said that she wanted to give Matt/Caroline another go and I think that's mostly because of how much she likes Matt.

Matt & Caroline together again would have been such a regression for her - & yet it still would have been a better, healthier storyline than what she did get....

I think the best thing would have been to use big purses to hide her bump and just not have a vampire be a surrogate to magic leeches. That whole story was just done so gross.

Yeah, they should have just covered it up. It would have been tricky & the fans would have known what was going on - but so many shows have done it

Plus, it was just disturbin & gross...

Yep. It was just a complete mess and I feel like it really set up the downfall for any good story arc for Caroline. It was just rubbish.
