I'm surprised Matt lived to the end as well - honestly, when you look at his storylines, I never got the impression that the writers cared about him very much, he was just another spare part to them imo
I guess they just wanted to keep him around because he was the only human left....
& Tyler was definitely screwed over, a lot of characters on this show were, but I don't think anyone got it as bad as him even though he did the least terrible things (aside from Matt) imo
