I like this goodbye I do hope once the show does end these characters can come back as a cameo would be nice way to send it off.
I think it was more of a writer's choice to do it in the second last episode. So for not the season finale to be dealing with it, to make it different I would assume. I assume she had a contract for the full season, so what does one more episode.

Also, the renewal was up in the "air" until a few weeks ago. So I wonder if they wanted to do a different kind of episode, even if everyone knew the show was coming up. But Mark's contract held up any announcement...

They did well. It makes sense that after so many years, Abby is actually faced with violence, and she needs time. And to go off, and set up a charity makes sense.

But it seems a little off to tie it to Clayton, when they really didn't have a connection next to last week's episode. But Abby is compassionate, and she probably needs time. And the homeless has always been a pet cause of Abby's.

^ I agree it made sense for abby . I wonder did the actor who play Reeves wants to leave as well?

I don't think he did. But it was in the end mutual. He's on record saying that once Gasberg (who hired him) died, Reeves didn't have much to do as the writers had so many character to deal with, and he got lost in the shuffle. So it wasn't as fullfilling as it could be for him, and he does like how the character was dealt with as he went out a hero.

I'm glad Abby is still alive, and thought her reason for leaving was plausible, but the show won't be the same without her. Really enjoyed having the references to Tony, and the flashback scenes.

It was nice to see Abby's apartment. Loved the Abby & McGee scenes.

Agree with you there.

Way back after season 2 when Kate died, she Couldn’t deal with the last-minute changes in the long hours. Mark threatened Original create and executive producer to leave if he didn’t step away from day to day creative . Donald was making script changes after days of long shoots .

Hey Paulie has saved made enough $$$, now she is looking for the right project

Definitely Mark upped his part of the show, but I don't think it was back in Season 2. But he did force out the creator due to behind the scene drama...in Season 4 or 5.

Sasha wanted to leave because of the long hours, and she hadn't expected it be as much as it was and she only really had experience with shorter run shows, and didn't know what she was signing up for back then. The show didn't take it well, and killed her off.... At least she came back for the season three premiere to give Kate a proper good-bye.

We all know how Cote's departure went. But with her, and how last minute her departure was... And how disruptive it was for the show. Both Mark and Pauley took it hard...

Michael gave a lot of advance notice. Of course it was obvious in that year, the lack of scenes one and one with Gibbs and Tony was noticible except for the finale...

So for Pauley to give months notice. It's not hard for their to be gossip. And to see it within the episodes, and now the finale..

While it's hard to know whether any of it was true. It gives credence to the gossip.

I believe Mark feels it's hard for anyone to willingly give up such a successful show. Especially in this day and age where shows can be cancelled on a dime... And fears for the show's ratings, and back in Season 2. It wasn't as much as a factor. But once the show became such a overwhelming hit. Cast departments cause distruption. And especially Tony's departure started the ratigns to go down...

I understand why people wanted to leave. Especially Pauley after being there since the beginning...

totally agree with you on this - and i think they did a good job with abby's appartment.

think tony had the better good-bye-scenes and it was really sad that abby and gibbs said good bye like this. don't know anything about the rumours, but even if they are true it would be very very sad if that was the reason for this kind of a good-bye scene.

also feeling sad about reeves death. always liked his interaction with torres which reminded me a little of the better times of ncis and i had hoped for more scenes next season.

and still hoped they would have cancelled the show after this season. will give it a try, but with all those characters gone in the last few years it is very hard to bestir myself to watch this show and now it won't be easier next season. that is a significant change after being edicted to the show for many years

Well that's an interesting group of people playing cards together there . Wouldn't mind sitting in on that game. Wonder how often that happens or if it was a one off occasion

Misleading having the hospital scene & then a bodybag. It could be anyone. Glad they brought Ducky back in to help out & for Abby's final episode. Not surprised Reeves stepped in front of Abby to save her, but it makes me question why we got so much about him & him used so much last ep to not even have him survive to get into this one

Finally a scene between Abby & Gibbs - of course its when she's unconscious so they can't interact. Nice use of flashback & tying in with how he used to say things about keeping her safe

This is the first loss for Torres & Bishop (sort of) so interesting seeing their reactions. Sure the others will be affected too but they've been through this all before with Kate, Jenny, Ziva, Franks...

of course McGee won't leave her

Wouldn't expect Bishop & Torres to be in Abby's lab but I guess they're all who are there to do it

ok, being a hit, maybe it wouldn't have mattered that she spoke to the 'mugger' but I stand by what I said in the previous thread

Funny I was just thinking about who would put a hit out on Abby & thought back to when it happened before, then they brought it up in the show

Love that Tony was called about it . Nice that they wrote that in & still a bit of bantering between him & McGee

McGee is going to make me cry

a walk through NCIS history here now to figure out who may be after Abby? Nice to see old faces/cases though

I like how they did a few flashbacks to lives lost, then into Abby's memories of what happened before waking up

poor Abby blaming herself . Love the look of her apartment

finally someone looks into the email - I figured that had to be involve ages ago

Abby why are you doing it alone & leading the others elsewhere? oh rule 45 - fair enough

Is it wrong that I liked that she trapped Torres in the coffin?

Interesting that Franks doesn't make Abby's list of dead hero friends. But I guess he was more Gibbs' mentor

I can understand when you look at how many hero friends she's lost & now one is dead because of her why she'd want to leave. The science isn't enough now, as there's always another bad guy & this time its Reeves but what about if the next time is Gibbs or McGee who she is closer to? Then even owing someone a dept makes sense for her character.

one final McAbby hug now has an idea for next icon/sig combo Glad we got Palmer & Ducky hugs too, & that Ducky was longer

not a good way to end things with Gibbs & Abby. I can understand the words, & it seems in character, it all seems in character in the ep, but mostly it feels just a way to avoid Pauley & Mark having to share a scene together the sign language was at least something I guess & I'm glad we had something more than just a letter but just didn't feel right. As the flashback they showed said - she was like a daughter to him...

aww Burt the Hippo

nope wasn't ready for this
