Not sure what I think on this episode. I always feel like we are going to get a good conclusion, but this time I didn't really think that.
Ok, so not really a twist in this one. We found out who the actual people involved were. The judge was the one calling the shots and his bailiff being the hit man. I kinda had a feeling the judge was a part of what ever was going on, so was not too surprised there. Was interesting about how the one guy was shot in Gibbs house. I had a feeling that Vance's former girlfriend/ the spy was in on what ever was going on as well. Glad Chedwiggen was not a part of what ever was going on. I could have sworn that McGee knew about what Gibbs did to the guy who killed his family. __________________

thanks for the reviews.
I think mcgee thought the right thing about what gibbs did, but I don't think he actual knew, because I don't think abby had told anyone. |

I thought this two part episode was pretty good! The minute I saw that famous old actor, Mike Farrell, who I think has been around for 100 years, I knew he would have more to do with the situation than just a couple things he did in the first part...then it turns out he's the bad guy.
And about McGee already knowing about the guy who killed Gibb's family, I honestly can't recall if he did or not, but you guys could well be right that he did already know. It was pretty interesting that at the end of the episode, the team pretty much agreed that they would let sleeping dogs lie and just keep it to themselves, choosing not to rat out on Gibbs. It was a really good scene though when they confronted Gibbs in the elevator and he spilled the beans to them...he really does trust them. I sure didn't like Mallory, Vance's former girlfriend. Wow, a first rate manipulator when she was coming on to him in that one scene, and you could see he still had major feelings for her and really wanted to forget and forgive, but I was so glad he stood firm and didn't go for it! And I was actually shocked when Kasie discovered it was Mallory's fingerprint on the photo of that guy who had killed Gibb's family. So anyway, at the end she was taken away so I'm thinking she's now totally out of the picture, is that what you guys are thinking as well? I mean, I don't want her coming back into Vance's life...she's such a major manipulator! But I wouldn't mind if the writers brought another love interest in for Vance, but she needs to be someone who really deserves him. And then there was Sloan again...you guys already know how I feel about her...I just view her as a know-it-all, condescending and self important person...so that's all I'll say about her this time and won't go into a full out rant again. I just hope they eliminate her from the cast in the next season, she just ruins the whole show for me every time. Didn't mean to end on that negative note, because I really did enjoy the story line of the two parter! I think the next episode will be the season finale...unless I'm wrong about that, so our long summer will begin with NCIS and some of our other favorite shows having their season finale episodes as well in the next week or so. Guess I'll have to get out in the sun and go to the beach with friends as I count the days 'til the fall premiers! Jenny |

I dunno. Maybe we are just thinking wrong on this? Just odd I think though.
Agreed with what you said about Mallory and Vance, Jenny __________________

Abby was the only one I think for sure who knew due to Mexico besides Ducky who guessed it back in the beginning. McGee has been around a long time, you would think he would have known but only maybe Tony might have suspected. So, I can't say for sure if he knew. Or if he knew but didn't know at the same time. One of those secrets not said, but assumed given how much he knew of the case, and how far it goes back.
But I doing a series rewartch this summer, so it might come to me. Bishop and Nick wasn't around for most of the storylines playing out that twist. So, it makes sense she wouldn't have known. I like Sloane more this season did I did in the beginning. She doesn't take over. She's there and giving her viewpoint, but she has a good chemistry with everyone. __________________

I haven't watched this episode so I can only comment so much but from what I remember from a few seasons ago the two children came after Gibbs in pay back for him killing their father. Surely it came up then so McGee would know? That's the whole storyline where Abby finds out, because they on purposely gave her that cold case so they could get answers. Vance knew as he covers it up. But I don't understand why McGee wouldn't have or did they just go 'someone is after Gibbs, lets go save him' with no other explanation . I want to rewatch those episodes now...

Oh Jasper and Chelle, you're right about Abby being put on the case that time, and as I recall, they even sent her down there to investigate it! I had forgotten all about that. For some reason I'm totally not remembering the eppy where that killer's kids came to get back at Gibbs; I wish there was a way to see that particular episode all over again.
I'm hopeful that one of these years when the show doesn't get renewed (but I hope it goes on forever even if they all have gray hair and have to use wheel chairs or crutches!), or the actors themselves just decide to call it a day, that the writers will tie up some of these loose ends. Otherwise, in this case our Gibbs would forever be getting away with murder in our minds. On the other hand, on second thought I'd be totally okay with them never addressing the issue again because after all, the guy did kill Gibbs' family in cold blood, so I'm totally fine if the issue is forgotten. He doesn't need to be presumed innocent in this case because WE were all witnesses that it was him! Oh wow, I can't believe I just said that! Jenny |
