I've already cried at least 10 times today and it might not even be something that's terminal. He's just my baby. He was the first pet that was just mine, he's been with me since college. Her opinion was that it was either lymphoma or a tumor on his spleen. I'm not going to have them cut him open. I'm hoping that whatever it is in his stomach isn't an issue and that the problems he has been having can be explained by like hyperthyroidism or something like that. He's acting generally okay, he's eating fine, he has a great appetite. I just want to make sure he has a good quality of life, I don't want to put him down too soon.

And then I just happened to have the end of the Daytona 500 on and crying again because that was the nastiest crash ever and I hope Ryan Newman is alive. They had black curtains out to block the cameras and aren't giving his status other than to say he's on the way to the hospital in an ambulance.

OM has to write a minimum of 250 words about each story. It’s as close to grading them as I’ll get. This is college level, had to apply to get into the program writing. I really am shocked.

I’m so sad about Sam. He’s your baby! I hope it’s something easily treatable.

I don’t follow racing. Someone crashed? I hate that.

I haven't watched NASCAR in years, but it was on tonight because the race was postponed and I just had it on. Ryan Newman crashed, they gave no updates, everyone was on the verge of crying I thought for sure he was dead, and seeing the crash it was so horrific. But he survived!

I don't think we'll ever know what the mass in his stomach is because I won't put him through a surgery at his age, but his blood work came back this morning and he does have hypothyroidism and kidney dysfunction, both of which are manageable in cats, the only issue being that the treatment for hypothyroidism can sometimes cause kidney issues, so already making that issue worse. Regardless, the problems he was having are more likely due to these conditions as opposed to whatever mass is in his stomach. So we're treating it and hope it works...the mass may be his demise but just going to treat him and if he continues to stay happy and eating and being himself then we're all good. All I can hope for.

Treatable conditions are always good. Is there something you can do for his kidneys?

He's on medication for the hypothyroidism which is what she thinks is causing his symptoms. He has to have his blood work rechecked in three weeks to make sure the medication isn't hurting his kidneys further. I don't know that there's anything they can do for his kidneys, but it's one issue at a time.

Everyone is sick, my uncle who was with my parents this weekend has the flu, I hadn't heard from my brother in awhile and talked to him yesterday for the first time in like a week...he has influenza A, which is terrible, he says he's never felt sicker. My mom went to the doctor today and has bronchitis. I'm quarantining myself.

Yikes! I got sick last night, very rare for me. I moved my clients to the end of the week and have been resting all day. I’m not feeling better per se, but I’m not worse and I haven’t been sick again...so there’s that. I have zero energy.

Wow - everyone is getting sick!!! Stay well ... and take care of yourselves.

Amanda: I've been thinking of you and your cat. A friend of mine just last week lost her cat because it got into a fight with another cat in her neighborhood. It was horrible ... she was only 4 years old. I understand how special our furry companions can be and how attached you must be to yours. I really hope the medication helps the thyroid (and doesn't inflame the kidney issue).

I watched Knives Out last night. I thought it was good but it didn't blow me away. Its funny, I always thought Daniel Craig was handsome (he does make a great Bond) but in this particular film, his age really seemed to stick out to me and I realized for the first time how much he reminds me of my Dad, who I didn't have a great relationship with. My Dad had the same brilliant blue eyes that Daniel has and every time he spoke in the film, and his facial expressions in particular, I felt like my Dad was in the room. Very weird...

I still have this lingering cold that just won't let go and it's so irritating. Between the cat issues, my dog was sick last night, add another to the list, and my mom is at my house while my dad is in Florida and she is recovering from bronchitis. It's like a sick ward.

I've had pets all my life, growing up we always had a dog and a cat and I've just kind of kept that trend going. I say now that I don't know I'll be able to get another cat after Sam because he is just so unique so full of personality and so sweet that I'll never have a cat that tops him. I can't imagine losing a 4 year old cat, or any animal that is not inevitably taken from me due to old age or an illness. I'm so sorry for your friend, that is so hard.

I completely agree with you about Daniel Criag, this was the first movie that I was not attracted to him in some way. Casino Royale is probably one of my favorite movies, he's so gorgeous in that. I think what I loved most about Knives Out was that it was unique, at least in today's movie industry. And I loved the ensemble. But I also have a huge girl crush on Ana de Armas.

It’s cold and wet and that doesn’t help my mood. I’m oddly tired without explanation. I didn’t get sick again, and my stomach feels okay. I woke up with a headache though. I dunno.

I hope everyone gets well in the sick ward.

I’ve always had pets, and pets die, and it sucks. It’s never easy.

This might sound too personal, but could it be hormonal?? For me, headaches and being tired without a reason why always point to some kinda hormone thing.

Sorry, you're not feeling well Kayla. February is the worst month I feel like it's just dark and sickness.

I need tricks or tips to give a cat a pill. he hates me and I hate myself whenever I have to give them to him.

Is he a good eater? If so, and if you can grind up the medicine, you can mix it in the wet food. That's what I do with my dog's food because he is IMPOSSIBLE to give pills to.

He is a good eater but picky. He's so spoiled, I'll steam him chicken for the week and he gets some of that every day but it has to be cut up just right, if it's too big he won't eat it. For no rhyme or reason he'll eat two cans of food one night and then none the next. So I can't really count on him eating it if I were to grind it up.

I had another cat, Cosmo, and we had to end up getting the medicine he was taking in liquid form. I doubt they have this in liquid form and I still think it might be hard to make sure he gets it all. For now it's me putting it at the back of his tongue and battling with him to swallow. He gets over it quick when it's done, he just hates me when I'm doing it.
