Covid test was negative as expected. Just about cleared the holiday laundry as we got a new washing machine this week, which is doing it's job very well. Buddy took a few days to settle back at home, but is back to his usual self now.

We went on excursions on all the Islands we visited, but these were marred by having to wear masks inside and outside, so not much fresh air! I was very impressed by the small Island La Gomera where we visited a very nice hotel and saw some spectacular views of Mount Teide on the neighbouring Island of Tenerife. Would love to go to stay there but it involves a lot of travelling, first by air then a sea ferry to contend with.

The first few days of our journey were very rough so needed to take sea sick tablets to settle my stomach, but not a bad as some folks. Was talking to another passenger who spent 2 days in bed!

The entertainment on board was really good with comedians, singers and interesting lectures on the ports of call.

The Madeira New Years Eve firework display was spectacular, which we got to see from the ship while seeing in the New Year. A lot of people must have been careless on that night as after that there were a lot of Covid isolations, due to people being in the vicinity of positive cases.

Everyone had 2 tests for Covid , one on the outward journey and one 2 days before docking, which was mandatory. We passed both tests so could enjoy the journey with peace of mind.

I would never go on a cruise because I get seasick and would probably be that 1% that would get sick on a calm day.

I'm curious about the locations you mentioned that were beautiful. I'd love to hear more about them and where they are exactly.

The Canary Islands are a popular holiday area for British vacations due to their all year round warm temperatures. Even in the middle of summer or the middle of winter they are never extreme. They are situated in the Atlantic Ocean off the West coast of Africa, and the nearest to Africa is Lanzarote which is about 50 miles away from the Sahara region. Madeira is a few miles North of the Canaries. The Canary Islands are part of Spain and Madeira is part of Portugal.

The Ocean was quite rough on the way there but thanks to some good medication I wasn't too bad. Coming home wasn't so bad but a lot of crew and passengers had to isolate because of Covid rules. If someone who you had been near tested positive you had to self isolate in your cabin until you tested clear. We all wore wrist bands which were monitored, so they could keep tabs on us, and our contacts.

Awe I only take baths and can only when landlady is home so lately been once a week but after my last Chemo pills 5-days Cycle to bump it up 2 twice a week

We had some severe winter storm weather on Friday with freezing rain, snow and high winds. It took down trees and we lost power around 9:00 Friday and didn't some on until today. We had no water and the snow plow didn't come down our road til sometime during the night, so we couldn't get out to get some.

We are having high winds and rain tonight, so if I disappear from posting on then it is possible I lost power again.
