My Sister's computer has been having upgrades and is running slow tonight - teething trouble hopefully. Been very busy as mother was very sick on Sunday night and Monday morning. Slept all day today and woke feeling and looking brighter at teatime so we gave her some fluids and jelly and cake (She will only eat small amounts of what she likes and refuses to eat proper food) but her upset hadn't quite finished so we had some more mopping up to do tonight. Someone sits with her while she is awake so we can intervene if she has any problems. Unfortunately she is steadily getting worse mentally and doesn't know when she is going to be ill so we have to keep a close eye on her 24 hours. We are still awaiting care givers as there is a waiting list for them, so have to manage ourselves for the time being. At least the physios have sorted some moving and handling aids to use until we get the help we need.

Very sorry to hear that, it sounds very challenging. My mother passed away at the age of 62, so I did not end up having to care for her. And my father passed away at age 64 from cancer. I guess that makes me an orphan.

There are mixed blessings of parents living to a very old age. My father passed at age 89 and until the last few months of his life he was reasonably well enough to enjoy life. My mother is 92 and is not able to recognise any of us as her family, just as the people who take care of her, but at least she accepts the help and appears to be content except when the sickness comes. She has inoperable gallstones so suffers from the pain, sickness and bowel problems while they pass through her system. She is reasonably well today which is a blessing. We just have to appreciate the good days and deal with the bad.

So true. I do wish I had had my parents longer. My kids were very small when they passed, so don't really remember them except from pictures. I think one of my biggest regrets is that my father never got to see my son play football. My father was a big sports fan and he was his only grandson. He would have been so excited and proud to see him play.

Took ten minutes for the computer to load up today. At this rate I won't have time to post anything.

Could be either, but I'm back home now so I'm on my own computer. Watching episode 4 of Fringe season 5.

Went to a concert last night in Liverpool. Paul Carrick, one of the best singer, songwriter, musicians we have. Been around since the 70s singing and performing with various groups as well as solo. Still has a fabulous voice.

Sounds nice. I was never big on concerts myself. I have been to several, but I prefer the outdoor type where you sit on a blanket and there are several different artists.

A bit cold for outdoor concerts at the moment! Even in summer the weather can't be relied on.

It's just nice to see the old guys who can really sing still performing. We also go to see comedians or interviews with TV personalities who have interesting reality shows. We are going to see Dick and Angela Strawbridge who have been renovating a French Chateau for the last 5 years, and are doing a tour of Britain in the next few months to talk about their experiences.
