Everything we’re hearing is a bit depressing. I don’t believe they’ll do something fatal to Peter, and even if they did, this is Fringe and they’d find a way to bring him back. However, I think it’s inevitable he’ll use the machine; they wouldn’t make so much noise about it if it wasn’t vital for Peter’s character and if it hadn’t repercussions. So yes, I’m preparing myself to something really bad to happen, something that will be a season finale cliffhanger. This if we have another season; if the writers already now this is the last one, then I’ll be more optimistic about a positive conclusion to this Peter/machine SL. I think we’ll always have a positive solution; there’s a reason why both Peter and Olivia talk about “another way”. But in the meantime, we better prepare ourselves for some nail biting suffering.
