It was. Lots of neat info on the history of women in space. Did you know that the first woman in space was a Soviet cosmonaut, Valentina Tereshkova? Sally Ride was the first American female in space. Uniforms of the first airline stewardesses are displayed. I tried on some astronaut gloves. There are miniature replicas of the old planes many early female pilots flew.
There is a wall of photographs of all of the female space shuttle astronauts.
Ever heard of Bessie Coleman? She was from Chicago and became the first African American in the world to earn a pilots license. Unfortunately she was killed in an airplane mishap in 1926 at the age of 34. Her life story is displayed.
A display chronicling the life of Amelia Earhart.
A real lunar console donated from Houston. That was real interesting. NASA actually watched and communicated with the astronauts who flew to the moon on it. The small TV screen and adjustment knobs looked somewhat like what you would see on a TV set from that era. They actually let you touch the knobs and screen.
Cool stuff.
