I would die for more TM, CS, TS, TC & TE scenes but this way our bb's won't get tainted. Truely the superior generation. THEY WERE SO BEAUTIFUL.

'Skins Pure,' s7's sequel to Gen 1: who will save Cassie?
Quote:
Cassandra's reappearance as the female lead in the s7 sequel to Gen 1 suggests that the moral redemption theme of Gen 1 will be further developed in its sequel. Cassie, like Tony, is a character crafted to Gen 1's core redemption theme. She's a troubled angel, who, precisely by being so emotionally needy, is redemptive. She's an ethereal dream-girl who manages to be morally unblemished despite having screwed 'everyone', despite her fondness for drugs, despite her anorexia, despite her emotional scars and her recurrent despair -- beautiful, sad, with a suffering-born wisdom beyond her years. A brilliant character who embodies the power of emotional neediness in a girl to bring out the best in a guy. Cassie, in the sequel as in Gen 1, will induce some guy to grow morally by responding to her emotional woundedness and need: it's what she does, it's the essence of her character. The sequel could be better than Gen 1 A major flaw of Gen 1 is that the lead female character, Michelle, is static and undeveloped. She's OK at the start, OK at the end; she's not badly flawed, she doesn't need to grow much. She's never much more than a moral challenge for the male lead, an 'Everygirl' that Tony must learn to love well. Moreover, the most appealing aspects of Michelle -- her idealism and her faith in love that Tony was wounding, and her emotional neediness -- are embodied in a distinct character, Cassie. Similarly, Tony's potential for kindness is embodied in a separate character, Sid. But whereas Tony and Sid grow more like each other, grow into a single whole guy, Michelle and Cassie never grow into each other because Michelle doesn't need to change. The guys grow, the girls don't. From beginning to end, Cassie is more appealing than Michelle. As a one-on-one love story, the Gen 1 sequel could be better than Gen 1. However, it may lack the distinctive Skins group dynamic, in which ostensibly distinct characters are, symbolically, aspects of a single character. __________________
