I've felt (still) for a guy I've know via Internet. I am very embarassed about it But he is so sensitive and has some "feminine" qualities in his personality. Guess what? His ex-girlfriend has been only with girls before hooking up with him (they were pretty young at the time however).

Every time I like someone, sooner or later I get this awful longing mixed with sadness due to the realization that it's not going to happen, so I just stop at the crush phase

gender is socially constructed anyway, at least in terms of enforcing heterosexuality. I care way more about dating a nice person than their gender.

Yeah and I feel like people limit themselves to partners who conform to really cliché gender roles because they feel like they need masculine/feminine balance to be complete, when in reality they're not compatible in any other way
