People actually get hate for it? I do have a problem with people adding romantic subtext to literally all friendships though, this trend is especially popular with male friendships in fandoms like Sherlock, Merlin, House and Harry Potter. I don't understand why people feel the need to make every strong male relationship into a romance, it's annoying

Queer characters are appreciated But shipping two straight male characters is also popular, which I find as ridiculous as shipping gay with straight, however I've got to admit that I am too guilty of both

I don't actually watch the show, but I've seen the cast and the writers being very straightforward about Watson/Sherlock as just friends.

In that case I pretend that both are bisexual. But tbh I don't like shipping couples like that, because I had real life situations of falling for people with different oriention and it brings back the painful memories

Universal bisexuality is always the way to go. Frankly I'm more annoyed to fall for girls who are actually queer, because then I can't use the excuse of incompatible orientation for why they don't like me
