Criminal Minds: [Spoiler] Is Shot, Then Gets a Shock — 2018 FIRST LOOK By Matt Webb Mitovich / December 25 2017, 9:00 AM PST Despite all appearances, it is in fact no day at the beach for the BAU team in this first look at a 2018 episode of Criminal Minds. In the CBS drama’s first episode back from the holiday break, titled “Submerged” and airing Wednesday, Jan. 3, the BAU launches a search for an UnSub with a puzzling past when a series of backyard pool homicides are reported in California. In the photos above and below, you can see that the investigation leads the team to a lakefront, where a series of surprises await them — including Agent Matt Simmons (played by Daniel Henney) getting shot, immediately after which he witnesses the UnSub committing… well, a devastating act. |
I'm thinking the bullet will catch his bullet proof vest and other than maybe being a little hurt and having the breath knocked out of him, he'll be fine and still able to work the case. I can't see them spoiling it like this if he's seriously injured. Plus he was in a few of the promo pics and one of them does look like he might be wearing a blanket and kind of in a bit of pain.
Since we have the synopsis and promo pics and some info, I'll probably put up the thread for episode 10 today. New episodes will be back in a week! But then they're off for a month in February for the Olympics |

Yeah, and if he was going to be severely hurt, the promo would have promoted that to build suspense and make people watch. But the promo is really only about Lou Diamond Phillips.

As of now, season 13 will have 22 episodes.
Do you guys think there will be a 14th season? The premiere would be episode 300. Would you guys prefer 300 be a finale or premiere? |

I'd prefer the 300th episode to be the season 14 opener just to give the show a bigger start. As of now, I think we'll be getting a 14th season (might be the last). We'll have to see what spring ratings brings. |
Having 300 as a premiere or finale is pretty cool.
I think they'll probably get a 14th season as well. CM is the best performer at 10 on Wednesdays that CBS has had in several years. The main thing going against CM is the cost of production and paying their actors. |

Season finale will be on April 25.
CODE BLACK will replace CRIMINAL MINDS following the conclusion of its season on Wednesday, April 25 (10:00–11:00 PM, ET/PT). |
Unless they do a 2 hour finale and air episodes 21 and 22 on the 25th of April, this means once the show is back in March after the Olympics that there won't be a break in the schedule (no weeks off)
