i just got the books when i heard the cw was turning the books into a tv series. i'm LOVING the books so far [still need to get the newest one], but i already know the cw is f-ing up the casting and books already. boo. i'm still gonna check out the first episode, just to see how much of the books they're going to stay true to.

I have a feeling that the tv show isn't going to be staying true to the books. They have cast Elena and the girl, who will be playing her doesn't have blonde hair.

definitely agreeing about not staying true to the books and casting. i'm a little disappointed in the casting of elena, because her appearance in the books are so important to the story. i also read that they gave elena a druggie brother instead of a little sister. that DEFINITELY wasn't in the books! i'm gonna wait and see who they cast as stefan and damon. mostly damon, because i absolutely LOVE him.

anyway, i made a little vid about my dream cast for the books if they were ever to make it into a tv show. i love my choice for elena and stefan, but everyone else i'm not dead set on. especially damon, cause he's my favorite and i couldn't think of an actor great enough than the image in my head.

I love your choice of Elena. Katie Cassidy is really pretty and I think she would be been of a great Elena. Steven Strait. He's always going to my Jacob Black. I really don't have a cast in my mind with the characters.

i didn't have a cast in mind until i heard there was a show coming out, but i always imagined katie as elena. plus, who wouldn't love to see steven strait every week being dark and broody?!

Ok, I'm kinda just excited to hear that they're making this into a TV show! Does anyone know when it is scheduled to start airing?
It's kind of obvious they won't stay exactly true to the books. It's unfortunate but that's what happens with these types of things. But just because the show is different doesn't necessarily mean it will be bad.

As anyone read the 3rd volume in the series that was just recently released?

I just bought the first book last night and started it (although I'm not very far), and I keep getting distracted by all the things that are similar between it and Twilight - little things like the 911 Turbo Porsche that is mentioned and things like that. Did anyone else notice this?

Hmm never occurred to me. I notice people tend to compare to twilight to things..
I guess because there may be similarities, not that there is anything wrong with that.
