Especially since there was so much hyped for the first movie.
I never understood movies being made from the books before the book is even released. __________________

I thought it was odd. Not to mention I didn't care for the movie at all.

That is weird. It makes more sense to make a movie of a book that has been released with a big fan following. That way you know people are gonna see the movie.

I didn't mind it. The book was better.
Yeah, I guess they see the potential and hopes it catches on. |

It's kind of a risk though in way. At least when a book is popular, you know you'll have an audience for the movie. How can you really know if the book hasn't been released?

It is quite the risk
I'm trying to think other adaptations that came out before the book was released, or even just after.. |

The stupidest things anyone has ever said about reading, or at least one of them, is when my brother told me "I love to read. But I only like a certain kinds of books."
Of course, that's perfectly alright... when you have read a reasonable variety of books and you have developed a literary culture of sorts. Not when you have read 20 books your whole life and they were all more or less the same kind of books. And when I asked him what kind of books he likes, he said adventure books. So I went ahead and recommended some adventure books and his reply was "I don't like French authors". He has read exactly two books by a French author and he enjoyed both of them. I just find it very stupid that he won't just admit reading isn't his favorite pass time. |

My brother is currently boycotting reading anything because he said he wants to read Game of Thrones. And I was like, dude, you're 14. You are not reading those books until you're at least 17. And he started complaining that those are the kinds of books he likes.

No, he does not. And being a 14 year old boy is weird and gross all on its own.

And he'll be able to hold his attention for like 800-1000 pages?
