Oh my gosh. ME TOO. I was BAWLING when I read Eclipse and J/B scenes especially the "soulmate" talk...

in fact, after I read that book, I could NOT go to sleep unless I read the soulmate talk. If I didn't read it I wouldn't be able to sleep

Dear John by Nicholas Sparks (can't read it without bawling) Message in a Bottle, Nights in Rodanthe - basically anything by Nicholas Sparks but especially Dear John.

The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch

Thus far, the only book to make me cry was The Guardian by Nicholas Sparks.

Joy School by Elizabeth Berg. The story was about a girl, Katie, 13 years old who "fell in love" with a 23 year old married man Jimmy. It's a tale of friendship and unrequited love. It's so bittersweet.

Kite Runner made me bawl too.

Just about anything written by Nicolas Sparks, but especially The Guardian, A Walk to Remember, and The Last Song ... like massive crocidile tears with those.

I like the disclaimer at the end that you cry easily

I cry pretty easily at books too, but I think the book I've bawled most with was Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I was so not expecting the ending.

I don't remember crying with any other HP book but the HBP one...Dumbledore's death really shocked me.

oh another book that made me bawl was 'Freak the Mighty' by Rodman Philbrick
and also 'Friedrich' I will never forget. It's by a german author telling the story of a little jewish boy in Germany of the 1930s.

Most recently, The Pact and Keeping Faith were big tear-jerkers for me. Maybe it's just a given for Jodi's books.

Could have sworn I previously posted in this thread, but I cannot find it.

Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson (Sam's Letters to Jennifer is also sad, but only not quite enough to cry)

and just about any book I have read that covered the whole life of a real animal:
Marley & Me by John Grogan
A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog by Dean Koontz (yes, that Dean Koontz)
Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron with Bret Witter (mostly for the chapter recounting her having to put down her dog because I had to do the exact same thing for practically the same reason the week before - and the tears are starting again )

A Time for Dancing by Davida Wills Hurwin. I cried the entire time I was reading the last half of that book for the first time, when I was 14. I've read it 2 or 3 times since then though, and haven't shed a tear at all.

Also, the last Animorphs book. That was my favorite series in middle school and when the last book came out, I cried for about half an hour after finishing it. Tobias and Rachel were my favorite characters.

These days, books don't make me cry much.

When I was reading Frostbite by Richelle Mead and one of the characters died I was nearly in tears. So sad to see a great character die.
