I am currently in the middle of the novel, The Time Traveler's Wife. Right now I am a little confused but this is possibly because I am in college and don't have that much focus to read right now!! I am really enjoying the style it is written in. I am eager to see how the movie pulls everything off. Like the time traveling, Claire, etc.

Other books being made into movies:
The Giver by Lois Lowry (2011) **NOTE The Giver movie is a rumor. I am unsure if this will be picked up**
The Lovely Bones (2009)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (2010/2011)

cant wait for the twilight film!!! hope its as good as the book.

the time travellers wife - cant wait for either - i lvoed the book finished it in 2 days!!!

same for the shopoholic books although slightly worried how they are going to play certain bits.

also heard that they are going to make jodi picoult's 'my sisters keeper' into a film, but not heard much about it though

I've heard a bit about My Sister's Keeper. I'm not entirely sure I like the casting decisions though.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie adaptation of The Secret Life of Bees (the 2002 bestselling novel by author Sue Monk Kidd) It opens on Oct. 17th and stars Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Sophie Okonedo, Dakota Fanning, and Paul Bethany. That's quite a cast.

Here's the movie trailer:

I heard rumors that they're making a Wicked movie but I have a feeling it will be based more on the musical than the book. Depends on the director I suppose.

There's a good chance I'm gonna go see 'Nights in Rodanthe' tomorrow! I have been stoked for this movie ever since I first heard about it. The book was absolutely amazing so with an all-star cast (Richard Gere and Diane Lane) I expect great things from the movie. Clearly there will be differences but that's to be expected.

My favorite books-turned-into-movies are,

The Kite Runner, by Khaled Housseini.
Harry Potter (all of them!) by JK Rowling.
And Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer, even though I love the book waaay more than the movie.

I am also really looking forward to see the movie The Lovely Bones.

What do you all like better, the book or the movies?

With The Kite Runner, I love them both the same. It was a very good adaption.

With Harry Potter, I love the movies more, since I saw the movies before I started reading the books.

And with Twilight, I definitely love the book more.

it depends of a lot of things but most of the time, I like the book better than the adaptation of it.

Same here. I'm a little scared that they won't capture the book, but they have a really strong cast, so that's a start.

I want to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, though I haven't read the book and don't know if I will any time soon.
