Read the novella. I don't know if it's because I kind of read it fast and when I do that I tend not to process little things. But I didn't see how it connected the first book to the second. The only connection I saw was that Tarver was stationed on the same planet before the evens in the novella.

Hm.. I don't remember, maybe that was it? Or maybe the stuff in regards to LaRoux Industries? Which maybe was the real point.

I almost feel like I should/want to re read the first book. I don't remember the stuff about her dad's company at the end.

They were working on I forget what something to do with hyperspace and it's why the ship in book 1 crashed I believe. I don't remember the details but I don't think they worked out all the kinks. Tarver suspected that Liliac's father (which he didn't know Liliac at the time. I can't think of the last name) sent the mercaneries in to kill the scientists there so they could talk. __________________
