I have no idea why Brooke's character was essentially written off. At the end of season six, Kelso gave Brooke his blessing to move to Chicago and in with her mother.

Maybe they were paying her a lot? But Kelso eventually went to Chicago so maybe things worked out?

That is what I like to think, that Kelso and Brooke eventually reunited.

It seems like Kelso got over his whole sex addiction (e.g., cheating) by the time he dated Angie. Then again, maybe we just didn't see him cheating on her. But I'd hope he'd gotten over it enough to be a good man for Brooke.

I hope he got over his addiction too. Brooke deserved a good man, and I think Kelso was working his way to being that for her.

Kelso's character was a little weird in S7. His main storyline seemed to be dating/sleeping with Angie and rubbing it in Hyde's face. LAME.

I think Kelso acting that way in season 7 was writing him back into how he used to be. They ignored his character development in season 6 in my opinion.

S7 did the same thing to Jackie, ignoring her S5-S6 growth. And Hyde was someone else half the time.

What should have happened in S7: Eric and Donna are married. Kelso and Brooke have a serious relationship. And Hyde ends up wanting the same thing for himself, and this leads him to proposing to Jackie, and Jackie's utterly shocked by this.

I have a cool "Season 7 Done the Right Way" fanfic I may write some day... It's just so frustrating.

What could've been funny is if Kelso and Brooke got married, and Kelso was happy about it -- and he considered it a burn on Eric (and Donna).

Jackie would probably want to be a bridesmaid, but she wasn't actually Brooke's friends. I could see Jackie being sneaky about things -- the same way Kitty was during Bob and Midge's renewal of their vows.

I can see Jackie being sneaky too. Although what I personally would like to see Jackie, Brooke and Donna all becoming close girl friends.
