Yeah, but she did not get it during the original show, right? When would she have time? She was accepted for MA at Columbia (again, I do not understand how), but turned it down for Brandon, then started working at hospital, and then with Donna.

Now, show wanted us to believe Kelly was street smart. Remember her "instincts" about Kevin and Suzanne in S4, and about Val in S5? She was supposed to have the sixth sense for freud or something, but she just came out as selfish and judgemental.

I wouldn't make such a bih distinction between being street smart and academic excellence. Both require some intelligence. Then **** it, some of the most stupid people I know got MA degrees, so there we go

She got it in between the original and the spinoff - offscreen. I think the street smart thing was just during our discussion. I think her degree was psychology or behavioral sciences of something like that.

Yeah, when something was only mentioned in the spin off, I somehow expect it to be mentioned as such. I never accepted it, ugh.

Val is straight to the point even though we know she gets one over Kelly. The only thing that Val couldn't win over Kelly is Brandon and that was the main problem with their dual

We've discussed it before. Well no, I disagree that their main problem was Brandon. There were other guys before him (and Val did not win them either). Also, she did not start that conflict. I think Kelly did. I think the main problem Kelly had with her was that she recognized in Val all that she wanted to suppress about herself, and Val saw her as a snobbish hypocrite who did not deserve any of her privileges.

I agree with most of what you said but Val always liked Brandon. Kelly did start this though

I agree. I think Val wanted Kelly out of the picture as soon as she found out BK were a couple. I think a part of her thought it was easy to get rid of her in the beginning.

When you see the first few episodes of S5 there was clear indication about Val wanting to do some damage to BK. However Kelly did start this war and it escalated from there.

Kelly started it but she didn't want no problems with Val.

That's why I never liked Kelly. She starts things off and then acts innocent. I love Val because she is what she is. Once Val had a serious BF like David she did show loyalty something that Kelly doesn't have until maybe S7 to S9. But Kelly lost that again in S9

Hm, but they were fighting about guys before Brandon too. Val always liked him, but she also always liked Dylan, Colin and Tom. This thing with Brandon was a bit of S7 retcon, I'd say.
