Rachel, I felt sad for Andrea especially all these years of pining for Brandon and that silly boy took no interest. She was a good girl so I don't know what the hell Brandon was doing. Maybe he didn't want to ruin the friendship he had with her.
To me, being a huge Brandrea shipper back then, it really frustrated me that the writers did not pair these two officially __________________

I have a feeling that Brandon felt a bit intimidated by Andrea, in sense that he knew she was smarter than him (well, she was portrayed as such in the first seasons), so it would not look good for him if he had such a girlfriend, yet it was very flattering such a woman was pining for him. He probably also assumed he could have her anytime, so that's why he made a move on her when she started dating Jay and got awesome "What makes you think you're so damn irresistible?" as an answer.

He probably was intimidated by Andrea which is why he never asked her out initially until it was too late. I liked that line by Andrea to Brandon regarding the irresistible comment.
