In 1x02, Steve yells back at Kelly that "after a year" with her, he would deserve the alimony. So I think it's a little over a year.

I think it was at least a year too. But since they changed how they first consummated, I'm not sure if the writers changed how long they were together in later seasons. But probably not.

I am really wondering where the show was heading with these two for the first 2 seasons. In Wedding Bell Blues Steve finally accepted that he was friendzoned. Kelly did friendzone him permanently for 2 years, whenever he explicitly tried to get back with her, but there was somehow a lot of tension, nice moments and references to the two of them as a couple. She was admitting sometimes that she needed him, but mainly when he was not around, and quite begrudgingly (like in U4EA). She definitely wanted to move forward, but i still somehow have a feeling that for almost 2 years writers were trying to show that he was the best for her, and that she would have to accept it in the end. Then it was changed due to difference of popularity of characters, alleviating Jennie's status, Luke's initiative to work more with her etc.

In 1x15 - Palm Springs Weekend, I thought Kelly was going to say yes in getting back together with Steve when he asked her. It was just the way he asked her. I thought it was a good moment. Instead, she just said no and walked away.

I think in other teen shows, the Kelly character would've said yes and it would've been a really romantic moment.

I always like Kelly with Brandon and Colin for different reasons but I would have been happy if Steve and Kelly ended up together. They had good chemistry IMO

I can understand why many people won't like Colin but I actually enjoyed Colin-Kelly destructive relationship. Same applies with Brandon with Lucinda where I know many don't like them together but I enjoyed it even though parts of that relationship was a bit too graphic for younger viewers. I actually like Steve and Kelly but ideally Kelly and Brandon are the right fit IMHO

I like Steve and Kelly as friends, I am not sure how I feel about them romantically, because we never really got to see them romantically. There friendship scenes I adore though.

In the Palm Springs Weekend episode in S1, when Kelly rejected Steve after he acted so sincere to her; I really wanted to know what did Steve do so badly that made Kelly not wanted to get back together with him. But I think it couldn't be that bad since they remained friends. But I think the reason at time was partially due to Kelly was eyeing Brandon.

Yes I remember that. I thought Kelly was a bit harsh but at the same time she wanted to move on and yeah she had good old Brandy in mind
I totally understand your reason for not liking Colin because of the drugs and I know many people didn't like that storyline either but for me I actually did love it and the fact that Colin was a nasty character that made it interesting for me.
