I don't know if Bobby-level-awesomeness can ever be truly explained. It just is.

But I'd love to get more backstory on him, if they can do it as well as they did in this ep.

I think the scene of Dean's nightmare confrontation with himself (as a demon) was so emotional and freaky and well-done. But I was interested to learn while watching the DVDs that they had originally planned on having Dean's nightmare be him having that same confrontation with John.

Do you think the scene would have had more of an impact if it was in fact John? I really liked how Dean was confronting himself about all these issues. I'm not sure how it would have played out with John.

I think it would be interesting to watch Dean confront John, but the scene wouldn't be as powerful, as angsty as Dean confronting himself, That's why that scene was so intense, Dean vs Dean and the battle of his inner psyche

I dunno. I think that the scene still would have been as emotional. I mean, having Dean actually speak out to John all that anger he's been supressing for pretty much his whole life? That would have hurt to watch. And you know the actors would have done an amazing job with it.

But the scene we got was incredibly powerful, too.

yeah, that would be powerful to see Dean lash out at his dad, but I somehow can't imagine John's reaction to it, so to see evil!Dean lash out at Dean, showing us all of his inner turmoil, the broken psyche, it was just so wow.

I can imagine John's reaction. *shudder* Or at least Dean's nightmare version of John's reaction. If it was bad enough when YED was possessing John..............

yeah, I think there's going to be some painful words thrown around, and I'd be cringing and I'd feel bad for Dean

Oh, it would be horrible. All the things Dean feels guilty for in his life (things which he shouldn't, but that's another story), all coming out in accusations from his nightmare version of John?
