I bet they spent a lot of time brainstorming ideas for that senior prank until they knew what they were going to do. Then when the perfect opportunity presented itself during Maya's last week of high school, they executed that prank, and they left their lasting impressions.

^ Even though I imagine Shawn is a legend at his high school, I don't think he pulled off a legendary senior prank to leave his mark. That's why I think he will want to join forces with Maya to pull off a senior prank that will be talked about for many years.
