Jonathan Turner & Shawn Hunter #5: Mr. Turner was definitely one of the few people who could handle Shawn.

^ Thanks for the new thread, Sophie.

I love that Shawn had the same kind of relationship with Mr. Turner that Cory had with Mr. Feeny. Mr. Turner's opinion meant a lot to Shawn, and he got through to him in a way that not a lot of people did.

^ I know, right? One of my favorite Shawn/Mr. Turner moments is when that bum tells Shawn to listen to his dad (i.e. Mr. Turner). It warms my heart to see that they both feel that father-son connection in that moment.

Me too, & that's exactly how their relationship should have stayed imo. It seems that Rider has been saying the same kind of thing on the podcast

^ I think so too. I have always wished TPTB had kept Shawn and Mr. Turner in each other's lives longer. Mr. Turner was the father that Shawn needed and should have had. The show lost some of the magic when TPTB decided to put a pause on the Mr. Turner/Shawn dynamic.

It did. & it really made no sense that two people could became family like that, & then have it fade away so quickly

I hate that that's the last time we see Mr. Turner *cries* Like I said, they could of at least gave random mentions of him recovering or something SMH.

Ikr? It was such a big episode, & I bet the fans were desperately waiting for some kind of update on Turner in the next episode & season 5. So crazy that the writers never gave anything!

Exactly. TPTB could have kept the Shawn/Mr. Turner connection on the show without actually showing Mr. Turner on-screen. I think a mention every once in a while about Mr. Turner's recovery and/or Shawn's involvement in it would have satisfied a lot of viewers.

Exactly. I will never understand why TPTB built a more personal relationship between Shawn and Mr. Turner if they were going to drop that dynamic in the blink of an eye. They deserved better.

That is one of the toughest scenes for me to watch. It breaks my heart that that is the last Shawn/Mr. Turner scene on Boy Meets World. That should have been the continuation of their story instead of the end of it.

They could have literally had one line where Turner had been transferred to another hospital closer to his parents so that they could help him out, & that he was doing well! Anything would have been better than not mentioning this huge thing that had happened

^ Yes to all! It is very sad and disappointing that TPTB made Mr. Turner disappear after Cult Fiction, especially since they could have kept his presence on the show without them showing him. My headcanon is that Shawn was a huge help to Mr. Turner during his recovery after his accident. All I wanted and expected was a mention every once in a while confirming that he was there for him.

If it was written better Shawn definitely would of been there throughout Turner's whole recovery.

I completely agree. I will always be sad and disappointed that TPTB decided that that big, emotional Mr. Turner/Shawn moment in Cult Fiction was the end of their story, and that we have to write our own headcanon for them.

I'm blanking on what moment that is.
