Exactly that was their way of saying it without saying it. She even said "It's harder to love someone than it is to walk away" implying that she does in fact love him. I don't think she would ask him to marry her if she didn't.

Yeah, I couldn't see Amelia marrying anyone if she doesn't love him and in their timeline she said 2 years ago that she was starting to fall in love with Owen.

The thing I don't get is why she would care. Meredith had already humiliated Amelia prior to her proposal to Owen. She already knew she did not have Meredith's golden approval. Why the sudden change? The only thing I can think of is that Meredith put her pettiness behind her long enough to be a bridesmaid for Amelia, and then threw it back in her face again towards the end. But they can't write Meredith as being THAT selfish to as go back and forth on her good graces AGAIN can they?

It's the whole wanting Meredith's approval, I do wish she would just see that it's a losing battle but I don't see her giving up on the approval anytime soon. It's sad that Meredith is so petty but it is what it is.
