Why??

I think it's bizarre that Alex, Jo, April, Jackson, Owen, Amelia, and Nathan were all left with cliffhangers that will not be resolved because Meredith has to be in every scene for the next episode. I understand that GA had to work around Denzel Washington's availability if they wanted him to direct but surely they could have scheduled his episode for later. A lot of fans appreciate the ensemble nature of GA. I'm not buying the hyperfocus on Meredith.

The hyperfocus only happened last season and IMO it ruined a lot of storylines. I don't think it's a good idea at all to focus so much on the lead character when you have 15 other characters. I think something like that works if you have let's say 4 other characters, but not so many! And Shonda won't stop adding new ones! People who still think that the writing on Grey's is still of high quality are watching a completely different show than I am. I think the writers aren't as good as the old writers, but I also can't blame them for everything because they have to write for 16 characters with such a heavy focus on 3-5.

We're being salty as ever. Who knows, maybe we won't have so much reason to be annoyed when the show returns? But who am I kidding, GA has been frustrating for us since the beginning of s11.

I'd say "because we can't wait to see Jo's answer."? It's the only thing I can think of with the lack of spoilers.
