Kind of sucky that it has come to this. I love her so I hate that I'm at a point where I would prefer they had just killed her off. It would have been far better, imo.

Would have made sense and making sense isn't too much to ask for.

The one thing we could get from this though - every time Brett is on Med it's with random extra as her partner, and seeing as she and Gabby worked the same shifts that really didn't make sense. As her new partner likely won't have the screentime Gabby had on Fire, we could actually get Brett on Med with her actual partner.
