I hate that everything is so messy right now. Even if they were still a mess, it wouldn't be as bad if the same didn't go for everyone else too. The exit will always be awful and needless, but I feel like with the others, they just dug the hole even deeper.

I actually think that's their best option initially. To say they discussed it and agreed they needed some space so she goes to PR. Then they separate down the line when she doesn't return (kind of has to happen if Jesse is sticking around). It reduces the damage done to her character, even if not completely.

It's just far better for her character if they discuss it and agree to take some space. Also makes more sense that their marriage isn't instantly over and that that happens down the line.

Just seems the best thing for her character, imo, if she doesn't walk out and they grow apart while she's gone. If Jesse really has only signed on for one more season, it might be in their best interests to leave it a while, too, until they know what he's doing at the end of next season.
