I love DanRad. He's not here for this kind of nonsense.

He just protested transphobia again, too.

He openly said "I don't want trans kids to think we agree with her."

He's such a rare treasure, because I almost never hear of male actors protesting the "Nice Guy" standard.

I didn't know this about Dan that's wonderful to hear!
It's great we are finally subverting the 'Nice Guy' trope but still it's very prevalent these days, I remember Penn Badgley having to call out fans on Twitter because they were idealising Joe, a stalker and murderer, as romantic. So we clearly have a long way to go, lol. |

Penn is also a good egg, pushing back on the “woobifying” of men who are really just very bad men.

Love seeing Penn call out people for that.

Penn is great! He touches a lot on toxic masculinity too, and the standards men are held to, how they are expected to behave.
He played Dan on GG, who was similar to Seth and also had that Nice Guy mentality which was never explored. Selfishly, I do wish Mischa had taken up the role of Georgina Sparks on GG just so she would share scenes with Penn, that could have been a lot of fun! |

Glad Mischa was never on set with Ed, though :/ I was less than pleased to see him at the fan event.
I never even watched GG and I feel for Penn because I heard the roller coaster that was the show's plot and Penn can't even defend most of the nonsense, lol. So he doesn't try, he just acknowledges it's problematic. __________________

Wasn't the ending for his character especially messy? Since I heard they made him Gossip Girl and all.

Glad Mischa was not on set with Ed too! Wildly inappropriate for him to be invited to any con.
Yes! The show had an utterly bizarre ending, that disregarded absolutely everything before it. Seriously... Dan, as GG, being shocked and horrified at his own updates requires a level of mental gymnastics not possible, lol. The writers there, like The OC, had a total disregard for their teenage fandom and really treated them like fools. |
