Yes, Julie mentions it in The Telenova when Luke has to leave the hotel room to go to school, "right, 'cause you're in high school and you're only 18". I guess by that logic he either started late or repeated, which is never explained.

Don't the characters repeat the same year between seasons 1 and 2? The show was so inconsistent.

It's hard to say, I guess. I was surprised they were only juniors in S2 IIRC. A junior COULD be 18, but a sophomore being 18 is ridiculous, lol.

And Luke was clearly supposed to be the same age earlier - they were in classes together.

He'd have to have been held back like twice, too. LOL. No indication Luke was like that. So inconsistent.

And I guess they magically had him turn eighteen between sex with Marissa and sex with Julie, so he wasn't committing statutory rape? Against Marissa who by S2 standards was likely 15 at the time, but I guess she was originally supposed to be 16 since she could drive?

What a mess. That's "We're going to change the actor playing Brandon and Brenda's parent halfway through the pilot and so the actor is going to film his scenes separately even though they're supposed to be in the same room, hope you don't notice!" levels of sloppy.

90210 fired the actor who was supposed to play Brandon and Brenda's father like...halfway through the pilot. But they didn't have the new actor in the right location during filming. So they filmed his scenes separately, and it was SUPER noticeable, LMAO. Like, he clearly was not in the same room or in the same filming area as the other actors.

I remember rewatching the 90210 Pilot when I was young. Like 13ish. And I was so aware it was horribly produced, lmao.

That pilot is only saved by the cast, namely Jason and Shannen. The mistakes were like, shocking. Like it was filmed by a high schooler high on pot.
