Not surprisingly, it's offically been rated R!
Rated R for violence, sexual content, language and drug use A little surprised though that it just says violence and not "strong violence" or gore or something. That's just me though lol. So I have two movies to look forward on June 12th, this and Jurassic World! GAH! |

Release date has been pushed evidently due to a larger release.
ARCHSTONE DISTRIBUTION AND AMC THEATRES SHIFT RELEASE OF "L.A. SLASHER" IN NORTH AMERICA TO JUNE 26, 2015 LOS ANGELES, CA (May 29, 2015) - Archstone Distribution has announced that the horror-dark comedy feature L.A. Slasher, directed by Martin Owen and produced by Jeffrey Wright and Daniel Sollinger, will receive a North American theatrical release starting June 26 in select AMC Theatres. “With growing public interest, AMC is expanding the release of the film,” L.A. Slasher Executive Producer Abigail Wright stated. "The number of cities are growing, and thus far include Los Angeles, Denver, Miami, Atlanta and Austin, with more to be announced soon.” L.A. Slasher Producer Daniel Sollinger remarked, “My team and I are thrilled to be working with Archstone and AMC, as they have a steady track record for bringing high quality films to audiences worldwide. We are very proud to be on their roster." With an all-star cast that includes Mischa Barton, Dave Bautista, Danny Trejo, Drake Bell, Eric Roberts, Brooke Hogan, Abigail Wright, Elizabeth Morris and Andy Dick (in his comeback vehicle), L.A. Slasher is a social satire about reality TV and the glorification of people who are famous for simply being famous. Exploring why it has become acceptable to become an influential star based on no merit or talent, the story follows the titular Slasher character as he systematically abducts these "stars," much to the joy of the online public who view his exploits via social media, and who subsequently and enthusiastically support his mantra of ‘Death To Reality TV'. Already a recipient of multiple awards on the film festival circuit, L.A. Slasher is being described as, “A ‘meta’ morality tale for the Age of Twitter” (via ShockTillYouDrop.com) and, “A visual juggernaut” (via TrulyDisturbing.com). L.A. Slasher Official Website www.laslashermovie.com ---- One of the producers sent me the above press release earlier today, but it seems to have gone out a few days ago. __________________

I don't suppose a UK release would be on the cards? If not, would someone mind going a second time for me. Given the reception this film has had, I dare say a DVD release will happen not to long afterwards....?

I wouldn't condemn the film just yet. Afterall, that is still one persons review. And you could probably find a negative review of Into The Dark (or any film really).

Definitely. I was just hoping the satirical nature of this would play well even for critics.

I can see how this would be hit or miss. Although honestly, the critics flayed the new Jurassic World and I loved it. LOL.

I get the impression that she has a fairly big role, but without having seen the film, it's anyone's guess.

It's hard to say, because often these indies will sort of...overplay her role, so to speak. LOL. Because her name is often bigger than some others in the project.

LOL, I kind of like the friend! She's charmingly unaware of her own hypocrisy.

I do love that Mischa is seemingly playing the kind of person the media tries to portray her to be.
