Unsurprisingly, it sounds like past contestants are all coming back to say goodbye to the show in the final episode. But since the article is saying Kelly and Carrie (and it is not the only one I saw like that) can this please mean they sing something together? I hope we at least get a photo of them together. ~~I am also surprising myself by how many names I actually do know from that list.~~

As far as I know it was a pre-taped performance of her greatest hits from when she was there last time. She would be too far along to fly out again to perform.

she must be due around about now so couldn't make a commitment to be there on the night. Plus she had to choose between Idol & the Grammys before so why would she be allowed to fly out for Idol again? Although there are articles claiming she'll be there on the night, but I think everyone would be surprised if that actually happened

. The closest to that they'd be able to have is a live video if she hasn't had the baby/isn't having the baby then. It'd be odd to have all these other winners & contestants & not the first winner on the show, especially since she clearly still cares about Idol. They'd do anything they had to to get her to appear in some way. Could still mean you'll get a Carrie/Kelly song &/or picture as maybe she joined in with the pre-recording

A melody of her hits though? Do all the past winners get to do that or just Kelly since she's the original?

well considering most not winners are probably doing either group songs or 30-second performances as part of a medley, Kelly (and maybe Carrie) are probably the only ones with their own medleys lol. the other winners i can see maybe doing one song each. but they also have to have this seasons contestants perform too lol

that's why I'm surprised she'd have a melody on her own as unless they just let her do one they'd have quite a few melodies to go through with all the winners that'll be there. I think it should be a melody of the winning songs which I suppose Kelly could still start with her own melody... Kelly & Carrie are the most successful Idol winners aren't they? I guess they deserve more of something for that reason... the other contestants I presume just are background singers & they're trying to get as many contestants to come on as they can
