I've never posted here before but I just wanted to say I couldn't agree more with the title. Kelly just owned the finale. IMHO, Jordin and Blake's performances seemed lacklustre compared to her kickass performances.

I was delirious with happiness when they announced she was about to sing because I knew she would rock it out and show everyone, once again, who the true Idol is. Her voice sounded so amazingly raw and awesome during "Never Again" and her part in the Beatles medley was hands down the BEST one of all the past Idols.

It's funny how I didn't even watch Season 1 or 2 (because they only aired Season 3 onwards where I live) but I'm SUCH a KC fan.

Good to have you here.

And I completely agree with you. Her part in the Beatles medley topped all of the other past idols. It was crazy to watch and see that either Jordin or Blake (even though I love them both) was winning the same award that Kelly once won.

To me, she's still THE American Idol. Once another winner surpasses her, then they may have the title. But it will never happen.

...ITA with you and Katie...I firmly believe that AI will never find someone with the qualities Kelly has...There's no one better than our KC.

The gist of it is...Clive doesn't like Kelly's album and wanted her to change it but of course Kel wouldn't back down and she gets to release MD the way she made it...MD has been done since Jan. but RCA kept it on the back burner hoping I guess Kelly would change it. Thankfully everything worked out for Kelly and us because we get Kelly's album and not a generic rca one.

When Kelly was on the AI finale last week...Clive was on stage talking about all the other previous winners and their new projects and what not and then presented Carrie with a platinum plaque and gushes over her like she's the best thing since sliced bread(he should know,he was probably there when they started making it,haha

)...anyways the only mention of Kelly he made was the 2 seconds he talked about the the great songwriting of SUBG...one of the only singles Kelly didn't write on.

...so I think alot of people felt like Kelly was dissed by him...and that's the story.

It's funny how I remember a time, during the breakaway era, when Clive couldn't stop praising Kelly for how she wrote on 6 songs on breakaway. I guess it's all good with him as long as she lets him put his hands in the cookie jar. When she shuts him out and decides she's in charge, then he's not cool with it.

Kelly's performances on AI overshadowed anything Clive may have to say about her. Or not say about her. She outperformed everyone else that night.

Oh, I remember that time Andy. I remember actually saying I liked Clive once.

Her performances really did though make up for Clive's lack of acknowledgement toward her. Even in all those blurbs from the last thread, many saw Kelly's talent over what Clive was saying.
