Wow, woke up to cold weather today. I didn't expect that for an October month.
 I haven't watched Dawson's Creek for years too but it's the reason I discovered  . I watched up to S4 and semi-watched S5/S6. I shipped DJ and was around during those DJ/PJ ship wars.  Eventually WB would become CW so that explains the love triangles. __________________

Every fandom has ship wars.
 Well, at least every fandom I've dipped my feet into.  TBH I didn't become a shipper until I was like 20.  I was pretty neutral about the ships before then and never understood why people got so defensive... now I'm totally protective of my ships. XD |

I agree every fandom has ship wars. The Dawson's Creek one just seems on another level of intense as compared to some others.

The SVU fandom used to have the worst wars after Elliot left, and the Grey's fandom has always been brutal but the Grey's fandom ship wars stem predominately from jealousy, because the writers suck at balancing screentime so people get angry when another ship gets more screentime than theirs and that creates tension. But my ship died, so I don't have anything to care about anymore with that show.
I'll stick to finished shows like FRIENDS where I know my ship is safe. |
