I think they changed the opening teaser, originally they had the sound of a baby crying as they buried the newborn, and Fox insisted that that be cut out

He had to bend down pretty low to cry on her shoulder (it’s sad, but cute)

Yeah, the whole Samantha storyline was terrible for Mulder.
