Yeah exactly. I really don't think it's as simple as that, LOL. The ratings have gone up for many reasons, none of which involve Leonard/Penny. CBS has already caught on to their lack of popularity, that's why they never have any promos centered on them, nor any L/P centric episodes during sweeps. The slot change, the emmy nomination, Jim Parsons, word of mouth, have all contributed to the increase in ratings, lol.

I wouldn't rule out LP as a cause but I find it illogical. The ratings increase in the last episode was probably because of their PCA victory.

Yeah but I don't think the audience cares at all for shipping. I mean the general audience. I wouldn't say S/P centric episodes are popular because everyone ships them, lol. It would probably be because they provide the most laughs for the casual audience. At the same time, the fact that L/P is so stale does not lend a hand into the ratings, lol. I agree that the PCA awards is one of the reasons for the increase. The more nominations and awards this show receives, the more people will tune in to find out what the fuss is about.

I don't know how L/P can lend a hand in the ratings, when they barely get any scenes.

The high ratings this season is because the show became insanely popular towards the end of the last season, and then more people caught on during the summer. I don't think it has anything to do with either ship, IMO. Plus, as others have mentioned, Jim's Emmy nom, the PCA, etc.

I really think most people just DON't have a freakin'ship.
They don't care.
It's a sitcom.
They tune in, watch, and have a good time. They enjoyed TBBT. It's funny, the plots are simple, the cast is great.

How can there be this much bad drama and griping over such a funny sitcom? Shipping is the ruin of everything. I just barely shipped L/P until this season, but because most of the S/P shippers decided that because they are not going to get their couple they are going to make it their life's mission to smear L/P I'm 1000% for them making it.

I cant wait to see Sheldon in court.

Although I do ship SP, I REALLY miss the show when they were all just friends. That's when it was the best - season one and season two. Now the dynamic is all messed up.

Honestly, my biggest complaint this season is that everyone is separated. There always seems to be an A plot and a B plot, and they hardly intersect. I miss when they'd all hang out and have a storyline together.

Are you serious? You make SP shippers seem extremely stupid and childish. Most of SP shippers have valid reasons why they do not enjoy LP this season. SP has nothing to do with it.

Yeah, I think that's the main reason season 3 feels so off.

Is it possible for people to stop making generalizations? I disliked L/P from the pilot, but I didn't ship S/P until season 2. I don't need to SMEAR L/P, they smear themselves with their lack of chemistry, poor writing and overall lack of comedic appeal.
