And, also, absolutely loved the scene with L/L arguing about *Rory*. That was so great. Overall, not an amazing episode. Hopefully next week will make up for it.

It's too down to the wire to have any kind of focus on kirk in a box.

Her explanation to Sookie is basically that she has to figure out if her feelings are nostalgic remnants of what they used to share or new feelings. Having once mistaken the two myself, I get that, but if we hadn't gotten that explanation I'd be incredulous that she was questioning her feelings now. No, wait--even understanding it, I don't like it that Lorelai is questioning. Maybe it's realistic, but I want the whole-package/never-stopped-loving-you fantasy over reality in the 2nd to last episode.

I was ok before this episode, then slept a bit and now, I'm too chicken to even watch the promo. Afraid I'll just burst into tears, hearing them say last episode ever, or goodbye to GG, I'm on the verge already now, just reading about it and all your comments.....
Anyone else feel as emotional?

Oh man, I'm going to miss Luke so much when the show is over. He's such a great guy and I totally love how SP plays him. He was awesome tonight.

They probably thought oh hey lets make a end of the pilot do over in the finale and put a little something from 4.22 into the mix and just in case we get another season a bit from 5.22. No we have to let her answer since it could be the end of the show

Yup...I wasn't emotional when I first heard, or even in the days that followed -- I was more shocked and got a "funny" feeling when I thought about it. Now it's pure sadness. I'm so not ready to let go.

I've done the same, but yeah, totally agree about not liking her thought process. However, I've just chosen to ignore it and am convincing myself that she KNOWS deep down that she is and always will be in love with Luke Danes.

(Maybe this "questioning" is supposed to parallel her feelings for Christopher? I don't like it one bit, but she did jump into a relationship with Christopher over "scraps" of old romantic feelings, IMO.)

Tonight's episode was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the promo was even better. I have to say I did not know whether to squee over the kiss or cry at the series finale part so I did both.

That's Lorelai. But she sounds upbeat during it, so I don't think it's in any LL scene. Maybe to Sookie or Rory about Luke, or maybe it's even about Rory.


The way SP/Luke says "I just like to see you happy" totally is making me melt. I love him.

I do love the way they're evoking memories of earlier scenes. Nice way to have the feel of a flashback without wasting time that could be used on new material.
