House S&S #12: Because 'Huge Ego, Sorry' Is Gnawing On Our Cane!

House Season Three Spoilers
Episode Spoilers

3.22 - Resignation

Air Date: May 8, 2007

  • FOREMAN HANDS IN HIS RESIGNATION WHILE THE TEAM RACES TO DIAGNOSE A YOUNG COLLEGE STUDENT ON "HOUSE" TUESDAY, MAY 8, ON FOX

    Piper Perabo Guest-Stars

Addie, a 19-year-old college student, is admitted to Princeton Plainsboro after coughing up a mouthful of blood during karate class. Before treating the patient, Foreman unapologetically informs the rest of the team that he is resigning, but will not say why. House strongly believes an infection is to blame for Addie's bleeding, even though her symptoms indicate otherwise. When Addie's lungs suddenly fill with fluid, the team believes that cancer or toxins could be an underlying cause, but House refuses to stray from his initial infection diagnosis. As Addie's condition worsens, House suggests a risky life-or-death treatment to confirm his suspected diagnosis, leaving the team wondering whether he cares more about making a diagnosis than he does about saving Addie's life. Meanwhile, House takes a special interest in a young, attractive nutritionist named Honey (guest star Piper Perabo), who accompanied her boyfriend to the clinic for treatment. Knowing he will have a position open soon on his team, House has Honey fill out an employment application and sees to it they meet again under more casual circumstances in the "Resignation" episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, May 8 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-322) (TV-14 L)

Guest Cast: Lyndsy Fonseca as Addie; Tony Spiridakis as Ben; Eve Gordon as Jody; Piper Perabo as Honey; Tracy Howe as Steve; Shonda Farr as Jamie; Bayani Ison as Sensei; Wayne Sable as Kyle; Kwabena Darkwah as Daniel; Bobbin Bergstrom as Nurse.
  • Wilson and House end up dosing each other via coffee. Wilson spikes House's coffee with anti-depressants, House spikes Wilson's coffee with amphetamines. Wilson on uppers is a riot. Chase displays an affinity for reading people - almost House-like you might say. Cameron shows up in House's bedroom in the middle of night, waking him up...

While at the bar, House tells Honey (Piper Perabo) - in reponse to her statement that she doesn't know anything about him- that he's on anti-depressants because a doctor friend of his thinks he's miserable, he likes meat and drugs, and he doesn't always stay faithful to the women he's dating. She says he's doesn't look miserable, leaving House pleasantly surprised at her response, prompting him to ask if she realizes she just skipped over a whole bunch of stuff that would send most women running etc...she says at least he's telling the truth. House coyly admits that he doesn't always do that either. She matter of factly sums him up by saying he sleeps around, does drugs and saves lives - how miserable can he be? House smiles. And they drink peppermint tea. From Spideysense @ TWOP.
  • Foreman tries to find another job. From Annathaema at TWOP

3.23 - The Jerk
Air Date: May 15, 2007

Episode stills can be found here.
  • A TEENAGE CHESS PRODIGY WITH A MYSTERIOUS ILLNESS AND A BAD ATTITUDE STUMPS THE TEAM ON "HOUSE" TUESDAY, MAY 15, ON FOX

Obnoxious 16-year-old chess prodigy Nate is admitted to Princeton-Plainsboro suffering from intense head pain that came on after he attacked his opponent during a speed chess tournament. Nate's mother tells the team that Nate has been having behavior problems ever since he became a teenager, and House suspects the behavior is a symptom of cluster headaches. As House's team carries out further testing to see why he might be having the headaches, Nate manages to offend and annoy each doctor on the team. As Nate's illness progresses, his liver and kidneys begin to fail. To narrow down the list of possible diagnoses, House carries out a series of unconventional and eccentric tests of his own, including engaging Nate in a game of chess to try to beat him at his own game. Meanwhile, Foreman's frustration with House reaches a new level when he believes House sabotaged his job interview with another hospital, and Cuddy makes Foreman an offer she's sure he can't refuse in "The Jerk" episode of HOUSE airing Tuesday, May 15 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOU-323) (TV-TBA)

Cast: Hugh Laurie as Dr. Gregory House; Lisa Edelstein as Dr. Lisa Cuddy; Omar Epps as Dr. Eric Foreman; Robert Sean Leonard as Dr. James Wilson; Jennifer Morrison as Dr. Allison Cameron; Jesse Spencer as Dr. Robert Chase

Guest Cast: Nick Lane as Nate; Colleen Flynn as Enid; Dustin Joiner as Mark; David Bowe as Doug.

  • House meets his match in the form of Nate (guest star Nick Lane), an obnoxious 16-year-old chess prodigy with intense head pain and behavioral issues, who manages to annoy and offend every member of House's team during his course of treatment. Meanwhile, Foreman's frustration with House reaches a new level when he believes House sabotages his job interview with another hospital. From the futon critic.

3.24 - Human Error
Air Date: May 29, 2007
  • House and the team take on the case of a young woman who, along with her husband, is rescued at sea en route from Cuba in a desperate attempt to see House and get a diagnosis for her illness. Meanwhile, Foreman prepares for his last day at Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.

General Season Three Spoilers

  • Katie Jacobs revealed that there will be a major development in the House/Cameron relationship in the upcoming episodes. No word on whether or not it is good or bad. Ausiello Report
  • "The print version of the Ausiello Report in TV Guide has some info on Piper Perabo's character. She's playing a nutrionist, and Katie reports that House is intrigued by her and that they go out together, but it's not clear from the wording of the quote in what context that might occur. Katie also is quoted as saying that House is interested in her *because* she's a nutrionist, but also because she's beautiful. They're still reporting that Piper is signed for just one episode, but Katie says that they really like the character, so she "may" come back. TV Guide has seen fit to accompany this report with a photoshopped House plus Piper, complete with pink heart labeled, "New Love for House?" From TWOP
  • House gets a dog.
  • A lot of you wanted to know if the ducklings would ever need to "grow out" of House and strike out on their own. I took that Q to Katie Jacobs, and she said, "I don't think so. I think that they have been changing since the very beginning of the show, insofar as they now sometimes display very Houselike qualities in the risks that they'll take and in their thinking and the way that they try to figure out the answers to the puzzle. I think they would fare very well away
  • House has been renewed for a fourth season.
  • In a lengthy arc, the pill-popping House works hard to outsmart a dogged cop set on bringing him down for his illicit drug use." According to Shore, this storyline is about House's "undoing because of his own stubborness more than his addiction."
  • In other news, "[t]hat sexual tension between House and a more assertive Cameron will be 'explored in little bits and pieces.'" Shore hints that said tension is "certainly alive and well."
  • The fun of being in the third season is that you can spend more time learning about the characters, going deeper into who they are and their relationships. What does it mean if House can walk pain free? Who is he without his illness? Plus the attraction with Cameron is still simmering, and Cuddy has a secret only House knows. Ouotes from Katie Jacobs, Executive Producer

Interviews

House Call- The Doctors Are In and Dishing on Their Romantic Entanglements

Quote:
House and Cuddy Will Get Cuddly—Eventually: House likes Cuddy. He wants to see her naked. We know this from the last episode, when he asked her to a play (code for requesting a viewing of her B-day suit). But will it ever happen? According to show creator David Shore...drum roll, please..."Yeah. Tune in. You'll see her naked." Whoo! The only downside? He's, um, kidding. Still, Shore says plans for bona fide Huddy action are on the horizon. "It won't happen this season," he says, "but we're taking little baby steps toward that, and we'll get there."

Cuddy Wuuuvvs House: Lisa Edelstein says she thinks her character (Cuddy) is a smitten kitten, and in more ways than one. "I think Cuddy really loves House, and I don't think she loves him in a way that limits how she has to love him, as a friend or as a lover or as a person who works for her. There's a great deal of appreciation there and respect. He's horrible to deal with, but he's worth it. He's worth every second."

Cameron Still Wuvs House, Too: "Cameron wants to be mad or be done with him," Jennifer Morrison says of her cranky but irresistible boss. "But House still finds the answers and saves someone's life, and that's what matters to her. So, it's hard to completely bury [her feelings] and not keep coming back for more."

Chase and Cameron Seem Doomed: Jesse Spencer says the romance between Chase and Cameron (played by his real-life fiancée, Morrison) came as a big surprise to them both, since only Jennifer's parents knew they were getting married when the storyline came out in the script. As for Chase's feelings about Cameron, he says, "She's kind of the opposite to him, and opposites attract. It started out as a purely physical relationship that got complicated, and it can only end one of two ways. I think there was a line in the script: 'Either you get married and have kids and live happily ever after, or someone gets fired.' And you know that House is never good for happy endings!" Thankfully, those two seem adorably compatable in real life and should have far better luck offscreen.

Kristin's Blog: Q & A with House Producer Katie Jacobs

Quote:
I have questions from the fans, and the first one is from Marcia in Rhode Island: What's going on with Cuddy's attempts to get pregnant and/or does House want to be the one to impregnate her?
I think that Cuddy is continuing [in her attempts to get pregnant], and we are in postproduction on an episode where all the emotions of being a mom are brought up again. I think it is a constant struggle for her to figure out the balance in life, work versus personal, so that continues. It's funny, because if I had to answer for House...I think House doesn't want to be the father of her child, but I certainly think he doesn't want anybody else to be the father—you know what I'm saying? Whether or not that would ultimately lead him to say "Okay, I will," is sort of up for grabs.

Will we ever see Foreman's father (Charles S. Dutton) again?
Yes. In fact, in this episode that we're prepping right now, he is coming back—and you're going to meet Foreman's mom as well.

And the number one questions the fans want to know: What's going to happen with House and Cameron?
Well, stay tuned this week...[Long-term], I think it's complicated—I think it's really complicated in a wonderful way. I mean, I think that, again House is impossible, wonderfully impossible. So, here she is, she has this arrangement with Chase, and you guys have not seen House find out—but inevitably he's going to find out, and how does he feel about that?

Do the writers or producers have a preference as far as who belongs together? I know Hugh Laurie has suggested that Jennifer Morrison is much too young for him, but do you guys see that one relationship is more or less right?
No, I think that you know there are equal chances he could wind up with Cuddy or Cameron or someone new—or Wilson for that matter, which I love to play with.
Ask Ausiello

April 11, 2007

Quote:
Question: Got any scoop on the House season finale?— Jenn
Ausiello: Exec producer Katie Jacobs told me that, unlike last season's finale, this year's climax won't involve any lethal firearms. "Well, House isn't going to get shot. With House, it's always sort of an emotional cliff-hanger." Meanwhile, the exec hints that Dr. Crabbypants' ongoing flirtations with both Cuddy and Cameron may soon come to a head. "It has to go somewhere," she concedes. "You can't work with people and have these feelings and have it not come to some sort of action — whether it's together or apart or what have you."
Feb. 28, 2007

Quote:
Question: More House scoop!— Megan
Ausiello: We're going to finally meet Wilson's ex-wife in an episode to air in April/May. And because all roads lead back to Dr. Cranky Pants, she'll blame House for destroying her marriage. In the same episode, we'll learn what Foreman's mother has in common with a recently deceased character from Grey's Anatomy.

If you have anymore spoilers that you would like in this post just post them in this thread or send them to me via PM. If you think someone is unfairly credited or have any other problems just let me know. Spoilers are always subject to change.

According to the episode description Bonnie is played by Jane Adams. I think this might be her.

HAHAHA. Shades of Frasier, eh? I didn't look at all the latest pages in the last thread, but if you guys wanted to know, a new vid is up at Fox. It's about House telling Wilson to go for it with Cuddy...It's quite entertaining if I do say so myself.
