Aside from the Olicity stuff the episode was pretty predictable and didn't really feel like the writers were making an effort here.

As for Olicity, quite clearly they're setting up some things for them for the next season. Firstly, they'll come back to the ILY and have Oliver admit he wasn't exactly only playing Slade. Secondly, they'll have Olicity angst next season, especially since season 3 will start a few months later. Felicity will probably have a guy and Oliver will likely be jealous. Come to think of it, they might even parallel the season 3 finale with this one, with Oliver saying ILY again to Felicity, only this time it won't be for someone else's benefit.
The above didn't bother me. I was fine with Felicity being used as bait, even though EBR/Felicity is just too adorable for any guy to even think of using her like that.

I know a lot of Oliciters are probably pissed right now about not getting the protective side of Oliver with regards to Felicity rather we got him using her as bait. But I think the writers intended this to show the strong side of Felicity. This was more about Felicity than Olicity.

It's the part about how they are playing with the fans that I have an issue with. We all knew they'd play us. It was evident in the "one step forward, two steps backward" interview. I just didn't think it would be this blatantly. It is very arrogant of the writers if they are not even pretending about this. And that is what's turning me off from the show. I'll watch season 3, but if it's Laurel-heavy or Olicity deficient, I'm out. Of course I know by the time season 3 starts, I'll probably have lost interest in Arrow anyway. KC is just too big a turn-off for me to watch her get more screentime and prominence.

This needs to happen.

It seems that way to me. I cannot think of any other scene that he could have been referring to. Unless he thinks we are shocked about Hong Kong. Which we aren't. No, I think he meant loudest in terms of "frustrated" or "infuriated" if you must. as in "C'mon, Oliver just just admit it".

I really preferred Castaway Sex Island.

However, "Felicity goes undercover as a singer at a nightclub and shocks the **** out of Oliver" is something I definitely see happening.

Because of the life he leads. God forbid he lets Felicity take any risks.

I kind of feel like she'll do more and more missions, and some for ARGUS as well, in the field.

This is how I see it in regards to Olicity last night going into s3

It was cemented as endgame.
I don't think Oliver meant to say I love you
I think he was going for a fake out but was surprised by his own emotions over it. So this wake him up to his own feelings.
Neither Felicity or Oliver are ready to acknowledge their feelings.
Felicity didn't want to admit it but she had hoped he was being honest and it hurt when she realized he was using her as bait.
On the island she was given him an opportunity to either confirm or deny his feelings and he did neither. So she let him take the cowards way out.

If TPTB are smart they will have something happen in s3 where felicity confronts Oliver about how he hurt her.
They should definitely make Oliver jealous of the F/B relationship in s3
Have Dig point out to Oliver that he needs to think about how he really feels about Felixity.
Have Felicity walk away from Oliver after a fight and leave questioning if she'll return.
Have lots of lovable awkward olicity moments that show that there in deed is a shift in their relationship like they said.

Run: I agree the writers got to cute and failed to execute what they were trying to imply, which all could have been fixed with one scene where he clues her in but we had to have a Bon Voyage Sara moment and a jacket hand off so we couldn't have that.

I'm so with you on the score, give it to me! The I love you scene where they overlapped Felicity's theme with Oliver's I'll listen to that all summer long. Clearly the music editor gets it more than the writers do.

And since this is about the sixth time this season, I'm going to need you to just hush. You and the EPs.

E it's not that I want Oliver to be protective of Felicity. Although that would have been nice. A moment of oh hell I really hope this works out or I just got someone I care about killed. I love her as his partner and someone he trusts. But you have to show that by cluing her in. It has to be her choice. I would have even been okay with him telling her I'm going to convince Slade to come after you and you inject him with the cure. Is that okay? Then if the writers wanted to have the ILY be his way of doing that and she gets caught up in the moment and believes fine. But you don't use a person you care about as bait without their consent.

You know what's kind of funny? That's the second time this season Sara's Jacket has been a Thing.

I don't think he took her consent away. I didn't see the scene like that. She would of had opportunity afterwards to refuse to do what he was asking, this "unthinkable" thing but she was strong and brave. Despite having her feelings hurt, she went on to save the city because she's an amazing person. I think that's the main thing I took away.

I don't see it as he took her consent away either. She could have told him no and she didn't....
I also try to remember that the cast see the whole script and film the script....and watch an unedited version of the episode and that's what thy spoil from. So like SA said he usually doesn't see the finished ep until it airs like the rest of us.....so maybe their was another scene that explained something or gave us something but it was cut. We don't know that.

I wouldn't be surprised if she and Dig both went to work for ARGUS, because they would have the resources he needs to find out about his brother and HIVE, and she would want to help him with that, and also cool toys.

Rewatching the "do you understand?" it plays on about seven different levels. I don't think Felicity got five of them.

Cat when was the other jacket thing I'm drawing a blank. I know SA is pro Olicity but I just can't deal with any of them today. Oliver and SA by default is in my ****ty person corner. Maybe after a month I'll let him out.

Katie we will have to agree to disagree. I don't see a moment when she could have objected. He brought her to the mansion, away from the city, flattened her with an ILY, left, and took the only vehicle with him. If he had asked her I have no doubt she would have done it, but he didn't. He knew best in his opinion.

Side note can someone let Isabel finish a freakin sentence.

Last week I hate Felicity ever since ..., hit by a car and this weeks I won because .... and killed by Nyssa. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for her. No monologue for you Isabel.
