Yeah, it makes them both look like *******s. But are they really? I love that it seems like the series will have depth and it's not just gonna be some soap-opera like affair story. The characters are gonna be more complicated than that.

I just hope I don't end up hating Ruth and Dominic's characters, my knee-jerk reaction is same as yours, *******s.

But I would think they'll tell the story in a way to try and help the audience maybe not sympathize, but at least understand.

I wonder if it's going to be a love affair? Or just a mistake?

I always tend to think that when someone has an affair or cheats, it's a choice, and there's nothing that can justify it. But I think in The Affair, they won't justify it but try to make us understand in a way why they did it, by showing the characters' life issues and the marriage issues. It's gonna interesting to say the least

I also think they will help the audience to underestand why Noah and Allison have an affair. I don't want to see Cole and Ellen playing just the poor victims.

Good questions. Anyway the truth will come out

Very true. I guess the clip of the family together in the restaurant, and then showing the affair right after got to me, but good tv is supposed to hit your heart.

you know what I like? They look real -- a semi-schlubby beach-going family with summer beach clothes on. And Ruth Wilson looks semi-dowdy in her uniform. Big question is whether Josh Jackson will every look anything less than gorgeous, though -- I don't think it's possible!

They do look very real...even the parents look slightly frazzled in the restaurant.
