Oh yeah I read about that! I'm in between. A little happy that they're going to redub but at the same time.. I agree, I grew up with that dub so it'll feel a little weird when I rewatch it.

i mean i saw a clip of the redubbed version and may i say im disappointed im sticking to the original dub :P

 I'll have to check it out and decide which one I prefer.

I've been watching Vampire Knight lately and I'm switching between sub and dub when I have to multitask, but wow do I ever prefer the sub.

angiecakes 08-03-2014 10:45 PM

vampire knight i started watching that i think its time to go back to it

cause atm im focus on fairy tail 2014 and sword art online 2

I'm liking it so far!

Same with SAO II. I really like the GGO arc; definitely prefer it over the ALO arc, but the first was my fave.

angiecakes 08-05-2014 12:52 AM

yeah i see alot of SAO fans hating the fairy dance arc but to honest I liked it cause well i love fairies XD and Kirito saving Asuna too did ya watch the dub version of SAO yet

yeah SAO 2  when Kirito had to act like a girl at first when he first entered :lmao:

canflam 08-05-2014 12:20 PM

Oh. How did he do?

angiecakes 08-05-2014 03:09 PM

what ya mean how Kirito acted  like a girl

canflam 08-05-2014 04:29 PM

Yeah. Were you thinking it was so bad you would not want to see it again or that he is a pretty good actor?

Wasn't even aware there was a dub version! I'll have to check that out.

:lmao: Even Kirito was surprised with his avatar.

I'd say he pulls it off quite well. But then again I don't think he so much acts like a girl most of the time, he's just mistaken for one (he can def use it to his advantage though, lol). But he's not vehemently denying he's a girl and insisting he's a guy . Sinon's reaction to him being a guy was pretty funny. I don't blame her for being quite upset though. Wonder what Asuna will think of his avatar. :P

I'm more inclined to subs; the original language sounds much more fluid and natural to me. Also, the choppy words and husky male voices sound rather sexy

But when things get too fast-paced, I switch to dub. Sometimes I feel like I'm focusing too much on the subtitles, which takes away from the experience and can be a bit tiring.

I watched Ouran High School Host Club dubbed, and it was the first anime I've ever watched. I think they did a good job if it; I especially like Haruhi and Kyoya's voices.

Yes!! Probably the only dub I really, really liked. They did a good job with that one.

yeah OHSHC I  the dub version of it probably one the first animes i watched other than the 4 i grew up with

List of other pretty good dubs well from my view anyway

Sword Art Online
Fairy Tail
Blood Lad
The Devil is a Part Timer
Toradora
Magi The Labyrinth of Magic
Attack on Titan
Black Cat
Blue Exorcist
The Familar of Zero
Soul Eater
Fullmetal Alchemist
and D-Gray Man

are my top favs in dub version

from my view the characters sound hotter in eng :thud:

canflam 09-10-2014 01:21 PM

I haven't seen any of those. Thanks for the list though. Might watch some if I get a chance to.

The mangled Sailor Moon dub will always hold a special place in my heart. And yes, it was bad and they kept changing the voice actress of the main character every freakin' season but I liked Mars, Jupiter, and Venus dubbed. Plus the fake accents they give the secondary accents really make them distinguished.

Ouran High School Host Club has a great dub because it's more modern. I think the dub vs sub debate stems from people only remembering the first dubs for kids. But years later, they've gotten better at it. I remember really liking the way they dubbed Death Note. The voices suited the characters.

That's my thoughts on it though I'd need to watch more anime to really be sure. :look:
